A long-established and consistently reliable Michelin-starred restaurant, just minutes from the Viaduc de Millau motorway. The 1960s timber-clad building is no architectural wonder, and the ground floor brasserie is noisy and bustling (although well above average). However, upstairs in the gourmet restaurant, the cuisine is assured, confident and delicious,Prices are fair and realistic, service is prompt and dedicated, and the food is a delight. Highly recommended and thoroughly deserving of its star. Restaurants like this are the backbone of French gastronomy.

Two weary travellers - after a long day driving - needed food. And Sunday evening in rural France can be tricky. But I remembered that Aumont-Aubrac is meant to be a 'village etape', which means it has eateries and places to stay for people en route. It did not let us down. Not much else was open, but this hotel restaurant was perfect, and heaving with diners. We wanted supper rather than dinner, so chose omelettes - filled with potatoes and chopped bacon. Came beautifully cooked - fresh and tasty - with a decent size salad too - all for E9.50. Very good value. Staff are swift, cheery, helpful, and clearly were appreciated by some guests who probably were staying in the hotel part. NB - in winter they are NOT open in the evenings - at all. Only for lunch. Probably from October onwards, so take care if you're travelling off season. We'd have lunch there any time.

Chambre à peu près propre, matelas très fin, 1 couverture trop petite qui ne borde pas les deux côtés du lit, pommeau de douche qui envoie de l'eau partout, la porte de la douche n'est pas étanche...Odeurs de fumée de cigarette dans le couloir, bruit du restaurant jusque dans les chambres, personnel s'interpelant du premier étage au rez de chaussée.. vous pouvez suivre l'évolution du service depuis votre chambre !Horrible. ..
