Staying at Stoke Gabriel for the weekend we went in to Totnes on Friday evening looking for a "dog friendly" restaurant as opposed to the usual pub evening. We stumbled across Rumour and although fully booked they managed to squeeze us in if we would vacate the table by 19:30. Service was welcoming, friendly and very efficient. We both had the Chef's "fishmarket supper" , 3 courses for £15. The mussels were glorious and plenty of them followed by fresh grilled sardines with a beautiful salad and chips, rounded off by sticky toffee pudding. We could not find fault with the meal, fresh ingredients beautifully cooked and presented. We enjoyed are food so much we went back for lunch on Sunday and once again enjoyed every aspect of the food, service and ambience!

Always go by your recommendations so when I entered best Sunday lunch and Orestone Manor came up I booked I was advised the time shiw on there site was incorrect and we were booked in at 12.15 lunch time I stated I was allergic to Black peppers he went away to the Chef then came back to us saying all of there Sunday roasts were drenched in pepper all night and the roast potatoes I have never come across this before as they were advertising the roasts Beef, pork Chicken you would have thought that one of the three would have been supplied without adding pepperes I had to end up with fish for Sunday lunch not what I wanted I think they should advertise that they add these allergic items so people are aware Graham Thurston the fish was very good and the serviceWe are please you enjoyed the fish and service. Our website does clearly state our dinning times . However as with all restaurants time slots do get booked up. It sounds to me 12.15 was the only time slot we had available when you booked. I see from your booking that you booked through open table ( a third party booking agent). If you had phoned us directly we would have asked if you had any dietary requirements. We would have been more than happy to accommodate your pepper allergy had we known. Unfortunately the nature of a roast is the preparation beforehand hence the inflexibility. The Orestone Manor does always try to accommodate all allergies but it is best that we know upon booking. We do hope we can welcome you back to The Orestone but please phone us directly next time.

Contemporary Devonian Dining creating dishes from the finest local produce both farmed and foraged. Hedge, River, Field, Kitchen
I had a delicious meal here last night with friends. We started with cocktail which was nice- but the cocktails were not the best thing to be honest. Beautiful bread and flavoured butter as well delicious amuse bouche bites. We all loved the food, the portions are not large but I appreciated that and was certainly not hungry at the end of our meal. Perfect macaroons were brought out at the end of the meal.I would definitely recommend

We visited for the first time a week ago and were enthralled by the small, intimate cornucopia of our surroundings. Bianca and Massimo took the time to explain the menu for the evening, using fresh, organic ingredients. It was presented to us with such care to detail and each dish was an explosion of colour and flavour. What a gem.Dear Barbara W,thank you so much for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit and we sincerely look forward to your next one :-) cheers! bianca e massimo

Popped in for a drink whilst shopping in Ashburton as it looks so attractive. The interior is quite small and simply furnished but light, bright and relaxed; the two women behind the bar were friendly; there was a reasonably good choice of wines by the glass and they also sold non-alcoholic drinks (for my driver!). The day was lovely so we walked through to the courtyard garden behind, again small but pretty, old stone and haphazard plants, and found a seat. The atmosphere is low key and laid back, the wine good, the garden quite a sun trap; we did not eat but noticed others' meals and they looked very good. A delightful pit stop which we shall certainly repeat, hopefully for lunch next time.

Amy, Joe and Lewis work hard to deliver memorable dining experiences whilst always ensuring their menu ideas are fresh and innovative to keep everyone's tastebuds tingling!
Dropped in with a pal for breakfast, we both decided in the Chick-Flick: consisting of Spicy tomato chickpea chimichurri with Spanish chorizo, poached eggs and toast. With a skinny latte. The coffee firstly is amazing; great bean, full of flavour, well made and at the correct temperature. The breakfast was amazing. Eggs poached to perfection, the chickpea base stunningly flavourful and the sourdough toast amazing. Service was superb and they didnât put a foot wrong. Well ok, one minor gripe, the waitress when asked about the chimmichurri described it as an Asian spice! In fact it turned out to be mayonnaise with some herbs and not chimmichurri at at all. But that aside it was an amazing breakfast and I will be back, as Iâm eager to try the Breakfast Burrito that I saw served and looked amazing. Well done team, keep it up!!
