Lovely café in a small shopping area just off the main highway 1 south west of Christchurch with plenty of parking. Quiet location, outside seating area, good selection of cakes and pastries and lunchtime meals. There is a wool/knitting shop adjacent. Very popular with locals. Good place to stop if youâre travelling on highway 1.

Fun night out with 19 of us. The vegetarian tart was delicious but just couldn't cut through bottom pastry even after asking for a steak knife! Many of us ended up using our hands!!Unfortunately the Indian looking waiter had DREADFUL body odour which just got worse thoughout the night, very unpleasant to have him leaning around you getting plates etc. He was friendly though. Enjoyed the food. Would have been great if all our empty water bottles were replaced.

I stayed at the Hotel Ashburton where this restaurant is located. I was pleased to find such an excellent restaurant at my doorstep. The food is plentiful, fresh, lots of flavour and variety from a modest menu which covers all the bases. GF available and the kitchen is very obliging with special requests. Wine list is a broad range of NZ wines, many local. Service is friendly and fun. Staff obviously like their jobs. I also had breakfast here, same deal, very good all round.
