We were recommended the restaurant and chose to have 2 dishes. There are many permutations you can have! We were not disappointed- my tomato and mozzarella with melon sorbet was magnificent, the other starter of prawns and avocado likewise. My main of duck breast with sweet potato purée and veg was simply sublime.Would love to go back. It doesnât look much from the outside but the cooking rely is fabulous.

We went to this restaurant at the recommendation of the owner of our accommodation. We weren't disappointed - there are a number of specials available and plenty of options from the standard menu. Portions are large, almost Yorkshire size! ;-)My starter of tomatoes & mozzarella was simple but delicious, my main course of veal chop was superb, absolutely massive chop that I struggled to finish off. Still there was a bit of space for a dessert, and the creme brûlée that I ordered was very nice indeed. We ordered a bottle of the local wine which was great too. The staff and the service was friendly and never rushed, it was clear we could take as long as we liked. Couldn't fault this restaurant and if I lived in Amboise I think i'd be dining at this restaurant each week. Simplicity is their watch word but the cooking is spot on. Booking is advised, it was busy the night we dined but I understand it always is.

This is a popular family run restaurant, a must have reservation dining experience with a small card and limited seating arrangement in a back alley in Amboise (so narrow that some diners had to get out of their outside dining seats to that a car could park further in the alley). Starters: soupe de melons au basilic (outstanding), homard breton et chou a la ricotta...(even better). Main: filte de merlu, ballotine de fintade de lat potatoe (not much meat of course). Desserts: moeleux au chocolat et chantilly...(regret that we did not select verrine facon torte aux fraises). Agree with all of the reviews and would return for a second night if we had stayed in Amboise longer.

We had a lovely lunch sitting on the terrace overlooking Clos Luce. We both chose quiche and salad (one bacon and onion, the other broccoli) with soup. The quiche and salad were delicious. Unfortunately the soup had no flavour at all and we couldnât eat it. It didnât spoil our lunch, which we concluded with a nougat glacé (very nice) and a pot of tea for two.

We enjoyed the â¬21 euro two course evening dinner. Delicious steak, cooked centrally on an indoor BBQ. Was a little tricky to find the restaurant entrance on bikes, but it's on a small side street off of the main drag in Amboise. Would visit again.

Many without reservations were turned away from this intimate and unasuming restaurant so we were glad we booked - thanks to the advice of previous TA reviewers. These guys love what they do and boy, they do it well - made us feel wecome, didn't try to score points by unnecessary distractions and flourishes like foam or air. This was honest but highly skilled & imaginitave fare. Chocolate pudding with pumpkin? Still can't decide whether the chef is bonkers or a genius but his slow-cooked lamb was without doubt the best meal I can recall. Thankyou!

I originally contacted another restaurant in Amboise who recommended L'Ecluse. It is situated away from the centre of Amboise and don't be put off by the exterior of the building. Inside its a lovely restaurant, very polite attentive staff, pleasant atmosphere and great value. We had the option of talking in English or French. We had the set menu lunch which was excellent at â¬19.00. I recommend this restaurant for lunch

New restaurant in the heart of the city of amboise. Discover the subtle alchemy between refined cuisine and the warm atmosphere.
My wife and I enjoyed an extraordinary lunch at this restaurant and were simply overwhelmed with the intricacies and quality of each of three courses which manifested itself in every dish being consumed to the last morsel. The value delivered by the âMarket returnâ menu at â¬21 served only for lunch from Tuesday to Friday which includes an amuse bouche, entree, main course, desert and gourmet coffee is stunning.Service was equal to the dishes being welcoming, friendly and very prompt.

I have been visiting Amboise for thé last 40 years. Not a lot changes there. So I was very surprises by this café/brewery. We took a plate with 4 small glasses for 8 euro. Unfortunately no explanation. So I can only Tell you it was not our kind of beer (Taste). Maybe it is best to developpe 1 good beer and then go off thé another. Also the cola and limonade was not our Taste. But we can encourage new things happening in AmboiseIt's true we are brand new and we are glad you found us! It sounds like you tried our flights or "dégustation" which includes our 4 signature beers; Chromatic Cream Ale, Abstract Amber Ale, Iridescent IPA, and Sepia Export Stout. I apologize for a lack of explanation in the moment, perhaps it was a busy time or an accidental oversight. None the less, these are American style craft beers brewed with local French ingredients. They are unique compared to other beers found in the area. We have received lots of positive feedback and we welcome people to get out there and try something new! All 4 of our recipes were developed with a lot of time and attention with multiple tastings and feedback from beer drinkers from an array of backgrounds. We are always eager to get more feedback. Please feel free to email us a more detailed account of your critiques of each individual beer in contrast with their beer style. As for the lemonade and cola we sell local products to support our local economy and realize that they are not always what everyone expects compared to more industrial mass-produced products. However, they are high quality and we feel like that's what counts. Thank you for your feedback!
