Have eaten here twice (September and October ) Large inside dining split into two areas,small amount of tables outside on the pavement.This a typical Spanish venta where you will mix with the Spanish locals.The food is of a good quality,and generous portions,especially the salads.The menue is in both Spanish and English,which is a must as the waiters don't seem to speak English.Only visited in the evening,but this the time of day where families get together,which is nice to see but it can get a bit noisy.On saying that the Spanish are by far more behaved than most English.So good food at a good price and nice for an authentic village restaurant

We visited la baranda 4 times the guy in charge spoke great english really helpfull ,great for tapas well presented tasty food not exspensive .The setting is great in the middle of the old town highly recommend.Try the mini burgers salmon rolls and nachos.

Just love this gem. Have been several times and never disappointed. Food always good, great service and good setting close to Lauro Golf. It is low season for golf at this time so no problem in booking for Sunday lunch, but if you want to come here earlier or later (Spring/Autumn) in the year, make sure you book (phone (0034) 653010298 - this will save you having having to search for it on the web). Lots of our friends come here, even those not so 'local' as it is worth the drive. Prices very good, for food and wine. Will continue to visit time and time again.Thank you for your lovely review. First time eating here, very varied menu, and all very nice staff. Had a fabulous dinner for our family of 4. Hosts speak English, Dutch, German and of course Spanish so no language problems. The tigres was amazing as was the grilled fish. All our meals were great the only small downside was the steak was a bit salty. The atmosphere was lovely, plenty of parking and the hosts are lovely. We found eating here more enjoyable than many of the restaurants in town. Well worth going out to visit, its less than 10 minutes from the centre of town.

My partner had a fish dish. It had been left under the hot plate after being cooked and was dried and over cooked . I had the steak which was just OK. It was meant to be served with ‘spices potatoes’ ... not sure pesto counts as spice! They were smeared with it. We got the impression that the cook couldn’t be bothered. Dear Mr,First of all we would like to apologize about what had happened with your fish dish. If we had known this we would have changed it immediately. The satisfaction of our customers come first. We had diner at this restaurant. It's a nice mordern place. The reviews on tripadvisor are diverse ... so we decided to give it a try.We had good diner, but is was not 'gastronomic'. Price was ok. Funny ... we asked 'campari orange' and the waiter served Picard. We gave it back and that wasn"t a problem.

Very nice and friendly restaurant/tapas bar, with large outside area as well as inside space. A group of us went with a friend who lives in the town and it seems the place is a really genuine neighbourhood restaurant, with friendly staff who know their regular customers ...the atmosphere is more like one big family. We had a good selection of food and all of it was well-cooked and very tasty, with helpful recommendations from the staff. We'd be happy to come back here again.

This restaurant makes Alhaurin great again. Beautiful place, very good food, nice (local) people, very good service. Love Isabel, and all her collegea, and of course the always smiling cheffe( whats his name?). We come her frequently, because its high quality for a good price.
