We came across this restaurant quite by chance - and we would now recommend everyone to do a detour to Albacete to find it !!! It looked enticing from the outside with its ceramic frontage, and our first impressions once inside made us think it was perhaps a bit too bourgeois for our budget. It was totally full, of well-dressed Spaniards, sitting at tables with crisp clean table-linen, gleaming cutlery, sparkling quality wine glasses â¦However, the manager/owner was very welcoming and he asked us to wait whilst he organised the last possible table for us by clearing some things away ⦠It was difficult to know what to order, there were all sorts of enticing dishes on the tapas bar, and when we were settled at our table and were shown the menu, we really didnât know what to choose (all in Spanish and unusual recipes that weâd not heard of before). For the first course, we were invited to chose something from the tapas bar, and were delighted with oven-baked spring onions in olive oil and herbs, and fish-infused rice. Delicious. For the next course âà la carteâ, we were recommended a very generous marinated filet-mignon of pork, served with a honey-spice sauce, and small jacket potatoes - and a gratin of pork with vegetables : the owner explained that the pork was roasted, then sliced and simmered with vegetables and then the meat and vegetables were transferred to an ovenproof dish with the sauce and grilled ⦠it was absolutely divine. We asked for the wine list, but ⦠the owner explained that he has no wine list, however he recommends âhouseâ wine appropriate for each meal ordered ⦠he came back with a bottle of Pago Florentino. This turned out to be a life-changing experience !! What a magnificent red wine ⦠(we even managed to find the vineyard during our further travels in La Mancha, even though itâs very much hidden away) ⦠we are indebted to this restaurant for having introduced us to this very fine wine - and have since researched more into the Pago denomination !!For dessert, there were various options on display ⦠we chose a local speciality which was sherry-laced crème anglaise with meringue peaks dotted with caramel syrup, totally scrumptious, and a violet tart. The violet tart was simply stunning - it looked like cheesecake, with a soft-crumb base, a delicate violet-infused pannacotta, and topped with a violet compôte, which even had violet petals interlaced ⦠sublime. We have been coming to Spain for over 35 years and eaten in many authentic restaurants, but this place must definitely be one of the best weâve ever come across, and certainly the cuisine must be amongst the most refined, tasty and tasteful ever ⦠The total bill only came to 68 Euros for two persons. Phenomenal - all things considered! We would definitely make a detour to Albacete to come here again â¦

Located on the plains of La Mancha, this wonderful restaurant and bar with an extensive terrace, is characterized by an excellent menu prepared with the best products and also for simplicity where light, tranquility and harmony merge into a single concept
We had booked on a half board basis and the fixed menu had lots of choices. We were first offered some delicious appetisers before our starters arrived. We opted for the red peppers with tuna and the salmon and cheese salad. The portions were enormous but so tasty that we ate the lot! The main courses, we went for the grilled veal and the roast leg of lamb, were also large but again we forced ourselves to finish them as both were really delicious. The wine was well priced at â¬17.As we were both so full we decided to share a dessert and we ordered a lemon sorbet manchego which turned out to be a chilled very lemony red drink! We would certainly enjoy eating here again if ever in the area

Spent the morning in museums and was ready for lunch. Found L'arruzz and chose a table outside in the shade. Had a look at the menu and decided on the Menu del Dia which had excellent and unusual choices. The Greek salad starter was beautifully presented and very tasty. Chose a rice dish for the main course - very tasty. Had a glass of red regional wine from Cuenca the which was excellent. When I sat down, I was served a tapa of ensalada rusa with tostados. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. This testaurant is good for tapas as well as meat, fish, rice and other dishes - great food and excellent value - not a bit "touristy" with all other diners Spanish. I would describe the restaurant as "progressive Spanish".Thnank you very much for the time and opinion given. It is a pleasure for us to know that you spent a really good time at the restaurant and enjoyed all the food. Hope to see you soon in another visit.
