First let me say that Oia is one of the busiest hussle places we have ever visited. Trying to find peace and quiet in the evening is a real challenge. We were guests at Esperas and checked out many of the top rated dinner places, with good success. Except evenings in Oia are madness with the sunset crowds! So we decided to just "stay in" for the night and dine at Ombra. Best decision we made during our visit to Oia. Excellent food, exceptional service, and I might add: the best view of the Oia sunset. It is a small place and you need a reservation. If you stay at Esperas, it is a no brainer. For non-guests, it is worth the walk and the stairs!Thank you very much for your review and for the welcome comparison. It is always great to come out on top when compared to rival establishments, especially when coming from true guests. We very much appreciate your real review and your business.

We stayed in the Ambassador hotel for 5 nights and booked with half board. As there are not many restaurants in walking distance, that was the perfect solution for us.The service is great! The menu is good, just make sure you ask for the big menu and not only the half board one as the choice of dishes is much better! A bit unfortunate that the staff didn't mention this. Anyway, we only ordered from the big menu and had a reduction of EUR 45 due to half board per person, which was perfectly fine.The food is great! It is a modern interpretation of greek dishes, one better than the other. Only point we were disappointed was that main dishes sometimes were smaller than starters which doesn't make sense at all, given that prices were also higher for the main dish. Two examples, the fried shrimps with salad were priced at EUR 19.- as starter and the same amount of shrimps with much less next to it was priced at EUR 26.- for the main dish. That clearly doesn't make sense. Another example was the moussaka, dish wise an excellent new interpretation of that recipe, but the portion for a main course clearly too small. We did mention these points and the restaurant offered deserts and coffee for free, well done and thank you very much.The view from the restaurant in the evening can't be beaten. The most beautiful sunset right in front of you.One evening they organised an entertainer, Billy Brown from Florida, EXCEPTIONAL!

This little roadside taverna gets great reviews because they make standard Greek taverna food but do it very well with much of the produce coming from their own farm.But the reason I would come back is that they have a little shop attached to the restaurant where they sell loads of interesting produce from their own farm - jams, pickles, sauces.I bought a jar or marmalade which was simply the best I have ever had in my life.It had huge chunks of orange peel in and that is exactly the way I like my marmalade, I can still taste it now!

Canât say enough nice things about Sofia, vallie and every single person working at the beach club and restaurant . So warm and accommodating, we had the best time and we ended up going twice because we couldnât find another beach club or area as beautifully run or exquisite as Akro. The food, drinks and service were impeccable. The drive is exciting and the views are jaw dropping. Put down your phone and jump into the beautiful water! As an American, it was nice going somewhere that felt very European and wasnât crowded with American tourists. This place is a gem!

Excellent food! Gorgeous sea front view! Definitely recommend. My husband had the traditional Greek burger and fries which were delicious (note burger does not come on a bun). I had the chicken penne which was also fabulous! And canât beat the view.

We didn't really choose this restaurant, the resort we were staying at recommended it based on the fact they would pick up and drop off. But we were so grateful!Honestly, the owner of the restaurant came to collect us and dropped us back whenever we wanted. A truly exceptional level of service. It was so good we dined both of our nights there.The location is fantastic, especially if you get there just before sunset. See photos.The service is exceptional. With the owner's daughter managing the place and two brilliant waitresses they have everything sown up. Our waitress wasn't family but was clearly treated as such making her incredibly happy and hospitable. Some of the guests dining were clearly on half board as it is part of a hotel and their set menus looked good and wholesome. A la cart was on a really good level. Not fine dining but very very good, and for the price and location truly excellent!
