Things to do in Achill Island
Tasty Treats is a locally owned Food Stall located at Keem Beach Achill Island. We sell the Ice Cream with Homemade sauce & toppings, Freshly cooked Chips and other Hot food, Fresh Made Sandwiches Daily, Along with Freshly made Pastries , Hot & Cold Drink
Came here with family to Keem beach yesterday. Ice cream cones are a scam. When making the cone, they donât direct it into the cone with the result that the cone falls when you leave. They specify they donât give replacements for fallen cones... indeed there were about 5 on the ground as I passed and 2 out of 4 cones we bought fell on the ground. Ice cream was watery and was expensive to boot. Horrible experience which really dampened our visit to an otherwise beautiful place. I recommend saving your money, time and taste buds by getting your ice cream elsewhere

The Valley House - Traditional Pub with music sessions, open fire, Craft Beers, Gin Bar, Wines and Spirits. Pub open all year round, Restaurant open seasonally only (June-August).
Usually as a vegetarian you're left stuck with very boring unimaginative options but this place was such a great surprise. Tucked away with cosy indoor seating and lovely courtyard outdoor seating. Food was excellent.. Really well thought-out menu catering for everyone. Highly highly recommend.

A simple and authentique menu with French and Italian food inspiration.Home made pizza and fresh bread are the must try !In a chill out atmosphere, for friends and families, you'll enjoy listening or playing music after dinner beside the fireplace.
Had dinner here last night with my family, absolutely gorgeous!! We have been on Achill for a week and a half of a 2 week holiday and eaten in several restaurants so far but Pure Magic has to rank near the top. Excellent Pizza, relaxing environment and great staff, definitely worth a return visit and high recommendation!

I ate in the chalet with a group of 10 people. All the food that was brought to the table looked and tasted amazing. Presentation was great and taste was even better. I had the mackerel to start and it was cooked to perfection, accompanied by a delicious salad. I had chicken as a main course and it too, was lovely. The desserts were fabulous, each one looking nicer than the next. The prices reflect the quality and freshness of the food. If youâre looking for cheap and cheerful, go to the chipper down the road.

Family friendly restaurant with scenic views in the heart of village of Keel, Achill Island.
In the heart of Keel village on Achill Island and opposite the fabulous Keel Beach you will find The Bayside Bistro. Spotlessly clean, efficient staff and good quality food makes this bistro a great stopping place to refresh prior to or after exploring all that Achill has to offer.

We went in the cafe part the other day. We have 2 young children. There were 2 tables free, we chose the one near the back beside the service counter as we had buggies and not wanting to be in peoples way. As soon we sat the girl gave us the menu, didnât offer a baby chair and didnât see one on the cafe. After 15 mins no order was taken and no one came to us. We tried to get a waitresses attention for so long. Then 3 people walked in and took the other table that was free. Within 10 minutes there orders were taken and coffee was delivered to their table. Waitress kept looking at our table but purposely not making eye contact so we couldnât get her attention. After choosing quiet a bit of food from their menu we decided to walk out after 15/20 mins. They decided to service the other table first and sold 3 coffee therefore loosing a sale of â¬30 plus euros. Donât recommend this place at all.

Recently visited the Amethyst restaurant for a family celebration. We received a great welcome from the manager. The staff upstairs were engaging to a point, but on occasion we were left with no service at all. It was hard to get their attention. The food is average. You can order anything from a burger and chips to duck. The food needs some attention. The portion sizes are just too big. They leave little room for the main course or dessert. The prawns are rather disappointing. Expected something special as Achill prides itself on its seafood. The steak was on the tough side rather than been juicy. Fish and chips, and curry went down well with the rest of the party. Food is reasonably priced. I will go back but will make sure I only order the main course. It was definitely food overload. With a fine bit of tuning, this could be a great spot to visit.
