Warmly welcome at our hotel and restaurant Kirchenwirt. We have comfortable, modern double rooms and appartements up to 4 persons. In our restaurant we serve regional specialities as well as vegetarian dishes.
We have been coming to Strobl for 15 years and the kirchenwirt is the best. The food is always great, fantastic service with a smile and nothing is ever too much trouble for Maria and her team! Book a table at busy times. Can't recommend enough!

Veggie choice: Very good (by UK standards) / Excellent (by Austrian standards)There seem to be 3 main vegetarian courses regularly on the menu; sometimes a daily special is also vegetarian. As we stayed for 3 nights at this hotel (on a hiking holiday without a car), we were happy that this hotel offers vegetarian, tasty dishes. Especially, as the other local choices for eateries are a bit limited, if one needs to walk in the dark (a lot of streets do not have any street lights - it's this rural around here). All main courses we had were very delicious, but the "Gemueselaibchen" (veggie burgers) on a great bed of salad was the best dish. The fried courgettes were nice, but there was no side dish, and with having been on long journey that day, I wish that I could have had some carbohydrates (if I would go there again, I would just ask, and I'm sure that they would oblige, because of one desert experience: see below).Whereas the main vegetarian courses are more modern cuisine, the deserts are far more traditional (various ice cream creations, primarily from the national equivalent of Wall's, named "Eskimo"), and mostly Austrian ("Pallatschinke" = pan cake; "Kaiserschmarn" = a thicker pancake, but cut up). As I'm currently not supposed to eat any cacao, I asked whether I could have the "Pallatschinke" without the standard chocolate sauce. To compensate for the lack of sauce, the kitchen added slightly-sugared almonds, and a couple of bits of fresh fruit (not normally served with this dish). The service in traditional dress ("Dirndel") was prompt, friendly and good - without being overattentive. We can only recommend this restaurant.

We did not stay here but we rented bikes and ate here one evening and the service was brilliant both for the cycle rental and the restaurant. We had to get back to our guest house after the meal which was a couple of miles away and the proprietor offered to drive us there when we were ready which we accepted. Very nice place to do business with.Thank you very much for the good notes.Familie Schöndorfer

The restaurant is part of the modern, boutique-style, 4-star-superior Hotel Cortisen. You will dine in the garden or on our terrace with scenic views over the lake. Reservations essential!
From the very first first meeting with the owner Roland, we we made to feel very welcome and more like part of the family rather than guests. The hotel is excellent with a variety of sitting areas, a superb restaurant, wonderful views over the lake and very nice relaxation area with a sauna, waterbeds and steam room. Our room was a good size and spotlessly clean. Christmas dinner was wonderful, preceded by drinks on the lawn around a fire and every guest was given an individual present and personally written card. A lovely touch and one that was appreciated by all. Roland and staff are to be commended on running an outstanding hotel that I have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending. Nothing was too much trouble and the advice regarding local attractions was much appreciated. Parking is over the road and there is a drop off zone right at the door, where Roland was more than happy to assist with our bags.If you are considering a stay in St. Wolfgang, go no further that Cortisen. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

PAUL der wirt invites you to enjoy austrian cuisine in all its splendor. taking traditional recipes that have been popular since the time of the emperor and adding our own modern twist. we have chosen our menu to represent austria, embracing its history,
We had the most wonderful brunch here! The omelets were delectable as was their selection of freshly baked breads. The fruit, vegetables, and juices were very fresh. And the service was amazing! And...the views of Lake Wolfgang...well...itâs beautiful here. Highly recommended!!!!

We loved this little restaurant which has a total of around 12 tables. They have a small menu which changes every day but each dish is superb. This actually deserves a 4.5 stars. The best place to sit is outside but there are only 4-5 tables there so try to book early. Do try their wines as they appear to excel in this aspect with a focus on good local wines. In fact they were closed the following weekend because they were off to do some wine shopping! If they were open we would have been back.

We only called in here on a rainy day because we had been told they served the best Applestrudle in town. What we had been told was completely correct, a delight stuffed full of tasty apple, spices and raisins, in light flaky pastry, served with a generous portion of cream. Delicious indulgence!

We started to go to the White Horse Inn restaurant next door, but saw that there were some tables available here by the water under the trees, so we stopped in and we were so glad we did. Our waiter was very friendly. The view was gorgeous and our lunches were excellent. I got the boiled beef, although I was hesitant because of the name. Boiled beef doesn't sound very appetizing, but I ordered it anyway and I'm glad I did. It was a lot like pot roast that I'm used to. It was very tender. The fried potatoes were so flavorful. I ordered a side salad in case I didn't like my meal, but my meal was so good I didn't really need the salad. My friend had the fried chicken which she said was excellent.I hope to return to Austria someday, and if I do, I may just stay at this hotel. The reviews appear to be very good. I know the restaurant is.Thank you so much for your very kind feedback. Our kitchen crew is very glad about your compliment, also our service staff. It will be a pleasure for us if you stay in our hotel and enjoy some holidays.See you and best regardsFamily Ellmauer & our Seeböcken staff

We visited here on the recommendations of trip advisor and were not disappointed. The restaurant is a typical rustic Austrian chalet with quirky bar stools and a nice atmosphere. We arrived at lunch time and had a drink before we ordered our food. The goulash was lovely with lashings of gravy and an enormous bread dumpling to soak it all up!! We ordered the home made raspberry cake to share which was delicious! The staff were very attentive and efficient. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!!
