Find out what Ecuadorean restaurants to try in Guayaquil. Founded in the 1530s, Ecuador's largest city and main port is the top access point for Galapagos cruises and home to a bustling import-export business. Tourism is on the rise as well, thanks to a new international airport and urban renewal projects along the River Guayas promenade and in the historic neighborhood of Las Peñas. The 465-step climb to the top of Santa Ana Hill provides sweeping views and a chance to stand on the site of the city's birthplace.

When everything on the menu (including appetizers) is $13-17 you know you are in an expensive restaurant. We took a cab to this restaurant on the recommendation of trip advisor and while I was not disappointed in the meal itself, I was a bit shocked at the prices. Also, I agree with another reviewer who said to get the crabs simply boiled and no sauce, which I did not do and ordered the garlic sauce. Wish I hadn't because it was just way too over powering. Still the whole experience was a good one (and the service was excellent) but I think I would try another place next time.

Contemporary ecuadorian cuisine restaurant with a casual environment and seasonal dishes located at one of the most beautiful places of the city.
We enjoyed tapas in this restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. They patiently answered our questions regarding the menu. All dishes were perfectly prepared. We enjoyed the stone crab claw in coconut sauce, hamburger sliders, chicken empanada, pork belly sliders and crab claw with rice coconut. Portions were just right for two. Cocktails were well balanced. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the nice breeze and views of the plaza. Service was excellent. Staff were attentive and did their very best to accommodate us.

âLa Canoaâ has become an icon for tourist and locals alike who wish to sample and discover the best of the authentic local fare, Ecuadorian food at its finest. We receive an average of 48 thousand visitors each year; this year we will have awarded 11,315
This place is way over priced for the food they serve, nothing special about food you can get anywhere in Guayaquil for 1/4 of the price... I've ate in far more exclusive places in Guayaquil ate a lot more and paid the same or even less for a much better meal... just step out the door of this restaurant and you will find the same food for a lot lessThe Canoa is valued for the consistency, during 44 years, in the flavors of its preparations; for being the best interpreter of traditional Ecuadorian traditional food; and, for your service cuts and agile. It is exactly what the investments and care we have, make the dishes consumed here maintain a price very similar to hotels of the same quality as ours. It was a pleasure for us to serve you. We hope that soon we can visit again, when your possibilities can take you.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant for seafood. The food was delicious. We actually ordered too much! The seafood soup was one of the best we have had. It was a large bowl full of seafood and delicious broth. The ceviche âlo nuestroâ was served in two large shells and was delicious as well. We also enjoyed the quinoa salad and another dish with rice and seafood. We ended the meal with a slice of chocolate cake. At first the service was a bit slow (there was a large birthday group) but our waiter was experienced and very nice. This place is a gem for seafood!

This restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. We had appetizers so canât speak to the main dishes. My ceviche was different and not as enjoyable as what my cousin made me so I didnât finish. It had a passion fruit base so I should have tried a more traditional one which I really enjoy. The empanada was original with fig and blue cheese. I enjoyed it. My husband and son got a beef brisket app which was amazing!! my daughter had the octopus which was also stellar. The wait staff is very attentive!! 5 stars for them!!Dear customerWe love your comment, we really appreciate these lines and we greatly appreciate your visit to our Casa Julián Restaurant, we hope to see you very soon again.we send you a very warm greeting.

Fantastic restaurant with superb service. All of our meals were excellent. Started off with banana chips with sauces. The very best banana chips I have ever tasted. We had the small salad and it was very unique with a tasty dressing. I ordered the lomo saltado estilo peruano. Tasted just like the lomo saltado in Peru but maybe even better. The flan was the best flan I have ever tasted. It had a coconut crust. I highly recommend this restaurant you will not be disappointed.

We were taken to this restaurant by our local friends. It was great to see a menu in English and Spanish. I was disappointed because I wanted a garlic dish with crab and shrimp. Was told they did not currently have crab. Had the shrimp, it did not disappoint. The rice was really tasty too! Yes it is croweded and noisy. The food however was worth it! The wait staff took good care of us.
