Tihany by winter is amazing. Balaton shows its different face. This place becomes even better when not crowded but warm and cozy with amazing food, quickly prepared. Great place to escape the sub par holiday tourist cafeteria style place near the lake. We felt like a wholesome meal and were pleasantly surprised to get great tasting selection of local cuisine. We had house special, and fish dishes. Recommend the beef goulash. Great coffee and friendly fast service!

They serve traditional hungarian food which are good. The only problem that they do not have any fresh salad. Service personal are kind and competent but a bit slow. Price are also average in compare with other restaurants in town.

When arriving, they took us to their Hungarian Food Museum, where we got to know(and tasted!) some local Hungarian products.The manager and waiter were very passionate in explaining the dishes and wines, and their connection to local families and businesses.The food was amazing and the prices were not expensive. Definetly a restaurant to visit when at the Balaton Lake. We returned here after enjoying a lovely lunch. At the first visit the service was good with the exception of one waiter who clearly didnât want to serve the English speakers however getting the bull was a mission. Weâre not demanding and appreciate that any English is a gift here in Hungary. We returned for an evening meal last night as we did enjoy the food and the outlook was nice. When we arrived the restaurant wasnât full but there were lots of busy waiters who are very skilled at ignoring customers. We enjoyed our mains and would have ordered desserts or coffee if it were it for the lack of attention. After our plates were cleared it was nearly 3/4 of an hour before we could any attention. But then we just wanted the bill. It just seems that there is lack of organisation and load of opportunity.Getting the bill took another half an hour.

We visited here for lunch on a lovely warm day. There were lots of people enjoying the colorful park between the restaurant and the lake. You can enter the restaurant from the street and sit outside with the view but you canât go into the park area unless you pay extra. Our spicy salmon on salad was very disappointing. It was supposed to be grilled but tasted strongly of butter, was greasy and fatty. The salad comprised chunks of browning lettuce with a couple of half cherry tomatoes and a dressing. Disappointing.

If you ever go to Tihany, you have an overwhelming selection of restaurants that are purposely opened for tourists, meaning overpriced and not necesseraly great quality. The Miska Pice Csarda is operated by an elderly couple, actually the cook is the mother and waiter/front of the house is the father. So whoever wants to have a wonderful, authentic Hungarian meal please come here, it is so worth it! Delicious, friendly and off the beaten track! Recommend!

WORST "DINNER" EVER. End of story. Avoid. Salty, cold, fat, almost not eatable. Bad smell from the kitchen. After our complaint it is bad, no reaction.
