Reviews on Eastern European food in Tbilisi, Georgia. Tbilisi (English: /təbɪˈliːsi, təˈbɪlɪsi/ tə-bih-LEE-see, tə-BIL-ih-see; Georgian: თბილისი [tʰbilisi] ( listen)), in some countries also still named by its pre-1936 international designation Tiflis (/ˈtɪflɪs/ TIF-liss), is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of approximately 1.5 million people. Founded in the 5th century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, since then Tbilisi served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Between 1801 and 1917, then part of the Russian Empire, Tbilisi was the seat of the Imperial Viceroy, governing both Southern and Northern Caucasus.

Khasheria is the perfect place to cure your hangover with Georgian anti-hangover cuisine.
We went to Culinarium for lunch and it was the best lunch in Tiblisi during our 3 day stay. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and gave us great meal recommendations. The waiter kindly suggested to do a wine tasting and were extremely generous with wine. I would say it outperformed all the wineries we visited. And the best part was the pricing! Best value for money for quality experience. I highly recommend this place. Thank you for visiting and sharing your opinion! We are glad that you're satisfied by our food and service!

Went based on ratings but came away disappointed feeling cheated. Georgian restaurant night before was excellent but this was terrible. Staff are too busy can't advise you got the order wrong bought the wrong wine twice. Portions were so small we Couldn't be bother to order anything else and the bill was more than the night before for the fraction of the food avoid at costs all the bad October reviews are correct but they are still busy

Chashnagiri - Delicious, georgian!
We were recommended this place by a local person. It is 5 minute walk from liberty square so convenient location. It is a friendly place with helpful staff. The menu is simple and full of local cuisine. We had four items, including the dumplings, which are enormous, with a couple of beers and was very happy with the final price. All the food was excellent and we would happily go back again.

situated in old town, cafe Kala offers Georgian and European dishes. You'll like Eclectic design (in a good way) and enjoy live music in evenings (but not every day as I remember). I would recommend dumplings (pelmeni) in clay pot, Caesar salad (actually, any salad), Khachapuri, lemonade. Place is always busy and sometimes it takes time to serve your order.

Simple piece of art in surroundings, in interior design and in the performance of dishes! Love this place and will always return with my guests, whom I want to impress.

I go to Taglaura once every week or so. Food is always good. Itâs standard fare, but the service sucks 50% of the time. Specially when I get a waiter. One waiter in particular was horrible. I included his photo. I asked for few things like water and coke on ice, never came back. Hard to track him after. He never returned. Even for the check. I had the BBQ ribs. They were ok, but way overpriced for the amount of ribs you get compared to other places. The women waitresses are very good, friendly. Helpful. Never had a problem with them. They work hard. The men at this place really donât do much but walk around and look busy. They have great house wine, nice khinkali, and shashlik, good soups and many other traditional Georgian dishes. Itâs like Georgiaâs version of a NJ diner.

Everything about Cafe Ornament was lovely and charming! The staff was so accommodating, and the wine was among the best in Tbilisi. The ambiance with the music and rustic homey feeling really set the mood for a lovely night with friends. Feels like home!

Bina N37 is the only place where you can taste Georgian wine from our 43 qvevries(clay vessels) placed on the top roof veranda on the 8th floor of apartment building. You will be offered homemade Georgian dishes prepared from fresh and natural ingredients
Bina N37 is on the top floor of an apartment building above a supermarket. The space has been converted into a modern style restaurant with booths or long tables where large parties can eat. Outside on the terrace is a marani set into what was a swimming pool in which the owner has 43 quevris to make his wine. It provides an excellent introduction to the food and wine of Georgia with friendly service and a knowledgeable manager. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you press the bell. The menu is both traditional and modern. Georgian staples such as spinach, aubergine and beetroot pkhali with a Bina 37 twist. Beautifully fried mushrooms. Excellent fried chicken with great taste and flavour. Sea bass from Batumi that is both fresh and cooked just right. And the wine, an amber mix including rkatsiteli and krakhuna, could have come from a village winery rather than the swimming pool.

just the best lunch i had in georgia! aside from the lovely view, the great and really friendly staff, and the extensive wine list the food was cheaper than chips and OMG was it better! i started, as you do, with a margarita! the ultimate amuse bouche! then i had a salad, big enough for 4 people and including an entire radiccio lettuce as a starter. then, naturally, i had that oh, so georgian of things, khachapuri with a glass of amber wine...nom nom! i had never had it before, it is a pizza/pretzel cross filled with cheese and baked with an egg on the top. i didnt need to be told how to eat it, breaking off the crust and dipping it came naturally, but it was just the ultimate comfort food! if we had this in scotland, it would be the ideal hangover cure washed down with a can of irn bru, avaliable everywhere on a sunday morning...but i digress!the wine was delicious, and the double espresso i had to follow was creamy and exotically bitter. what a meal. i followed it with another coffee and a cointreau, which took a bit of explaining, but we got there in the end, and it was just the best meal i had in tbilisi. all this for about $25 and really lovely service.....its a great place.
