Great lunch was had by all. We each had soup. There are chicken, seafood, cucumber and a couple more choices. The main course I had was calamari in olive oil. It was delicious. Others had the grilled mackerel which was also delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a good choice either going to or from the beach.

I went to this restaurant initially on a recommend from a friend, who accompanied me.All was good, and I was sufficiently happy to book a table for my friend who was visiting the following week, and myself. What a disappointment that was!Having tried and enjoyed the chicken on a tile with cheese and vegetables on my initial visit,I ordered it again, feeling safe in my choice. After waiting for almost one hour,it arrived, and was virtually inedible. It had clearly been put in the oven when ordered, and then forgotten about. The chips I asked for when ordering arrived about half an hour after the main course, and I simply refused them, much to the bewildered look of the waitress, who I believe was a part owner of the business.I left most of my main, and upon the plates being cleared, made it politely clear that it was awful and over-cooked.She was far from concerned, and gave a sort of 'oh' along with a shrug. My friend's dinner was admittedly a little better I was informed, but we both agreed that we would never return. As we know, food is so subjective, and one 'bad night' by the chef can result in a no return vote,as indeed was the case with us.Get it right, and you have me as a customer.Get it wrong, and you won't see me again. There are 91 restaurants in Sozopol...I won't go hungry.

This restaurant looked too well-lit and hidden up on a balcony but we were interested in the A-broad outside that showed a wide range of food that our family really enjoy. It was well worth the effort going up stairs, to find very welcoming staff and restaurant-goers who looked like they were enjoying their food. We ended up eating here on two occasions, on both of which the Bulgarian food was well-cooked and plentiful. Everyone choose very different dishes and all were great (except for the vegetables for one dish which were definitely of the 'freezer' variety). The grilled dishes were delicious, the fish was particularly delicious. We ate at much more expensive restaurants which were half as good and twice as costly. Well worth a visit!

If you are looking for a place to eat great fish or sea food it's a perfect restaurant for you! Beautifully located - offers sea view and is close to the center. The service is efficient, waiters speak English well! They are also able to explain the differences between the types of fish (the choice is BIG). You will even get a separate plate for bones to clean the fish and a wet lemon scented napkin to clean your hands afterwards! Finally, friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices decide on the full 5 out of 5 points

Located on the seacoast of Old Town in Sozopol, The Windmill is a peaceful restaurant serving authentic Bulgarian cuisine. Weâre known to have one of the greatest views of the sea in whole Sozopol.
This is beautifully located quite large restaurant located in Old Sozopol. It has tables with really scenic sea view. Each evening at 9.00 pm there is a Bulgarian folk show that foreigners always move. The restaurant specializes in classic Bulgarian kitchen - they have plenty Bulgarian appetizers based on fresh vegetables in the menu. Therefore, whenever I go for the summer holiday to Sozopol I visit this place but this year I was really disappointed. We visited it 5 times in 3 weeks and some meals were really delicious (like goose livers with figs). However, the quality of some others was much lower than I expected. We were specifically frustrated when we ordered chickens shashlik for small kids - then we waited, and waited, and finally after reminding the waiter this order, we got shashliks with raw chicken meat. When we complained, after next 15 minutes we got new shashliks but this time they were prepared from chicken scraps. One additional comment - service is OK as long as the restaurant is empty. However, when this place was busy some customers may loose their patience ...I hope that the restaurant manager will be able to fix this restaurant soon and it will be again one of the best places to have meals in Sozopol area. Hello! Thank you for the review! We will take your words into consideration.

Each year when I am on holiday in Bulgaria I come to this place. Veranda has a nice location with sea view. Yesterday, We (4 people) had a very good dinner: mussels, Bulgarian salats, local âtaramaâ and ice cream with green figs. Everything was delicious. We paid for the food + 2 bottles of Bulgarian traminer (not bad!) less than 60 Euro. In addition, good and fast service (waiters able to communicate in English!).I can only recommend this restaurant - nice place, good food, good service, and reasonable prices.

Lovely restaurant, located on the edge of the rocks
Nice setting right in the cliffs. Waiter was friendly and service was good. Opted for wine and just to have mains. Their crispy chicken with figs and blue cheese was fab, definitely the best dish Iâve eaten in Bulgaria. Partner had the pork ribs which he enjoyed too. Would recommend.Thank you very much and you are welcome again.

Arrived on a very busy night and had a short wait whilst a table was cleared. A complimentary glass of mastika was given to us as an apology. We were shown to a small table on the lower floor and the service was super friendly and efficient. We both had cheesy tomato soup which was delicious and my wife had a perfectly cooked mackerel and I had the chicken skewer both of which came with potatoes and were perfectly cooked.A recommended bottle of red wine complimented our meal and with coffees to finish with the meal only cost only 70 lev (£35).The staff were really friendly on a very busy night in the restaurant and we will definitely return next year.

We were really excited to eat here for my mom's birthday. We had reservation for 7:30 pm on the balcony. As we arrived, we were switched from one personel to another until the manager came to tell us that yes the reservation is valid, however the balcony is full. Okay, we wanted to go there but no big deal. He told us to eat outside the restaurant, so we sat down where he told us. In a few seconds he came back with words that we can't sit there but have to choose from another tables further back. We were already cross with that and it completely ruined our appetite so we left. Their approach was inappropriate and absolutely horrendous. Hello! We are sorry to hear that. Such cases rarely happen in our restaurant, but still, we will take note.
