The restaurant is situated just off the main pedestrianised area of central Plovdiv and was recommended by our tour guide. We had an outside table as it was a mild evening but there is ample seating inside. The menu is quite extensive covering fish, meat and vegetarian choices, the wine list offers wines from around the world together with many local choices. After a traditional salad starter my wife chose sea bass with prawns while I opted for beef tenderloin risotto. The service was excellent throughout and the waiter's choice of wine was top class. We couldn't manage a dessert but I am sure it would have been up to the standard of the rest of the meal. The restaurant is towards the upper end pricewise for Bulgaria but represented excellent value at around £90 for starter two mains and two 1/2 bottles of excellent wine.

The restaurant is located in the heart of the archeological complex Old Plovdiv, next to Roman remains and minutes away from the Ancient Roman Theatre. Most people avoid eating at hotel-restaurants for several reasons â they donât expect to be properly se

Fine dinining restaurant
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal here recently. Staff were friendly and attentive - we ate their speciality beef hamburger, with salad and accompanying chips. Our half bottle of local red wine was delicious. A great way to celebrate our last night of our tour of Plovdiv and Sofia.

One of the oldest restaurants in Plovdiv, dedicated to fresh, tasty, bio, food; most of the vegetables coming from our own garden; two times awarded ârestaurant of the yearâ by Bacchus magazine.
Our dinner at the Hebros was excellent. A beautifully prepared flavoursome meal. Our waiter helped us negotiate the wine list and find a Bulgarian red with a little bit of bottle age that was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient.Overall, we felt that we had received excellent price value for our meal.

It is not open Mondayâs.

The food here is delicious, full of flavour, so many elements on the one plate, but they all compliment each other. The first night my duck magret was beautifully cooked with the fat rendered down and the accompanying sides of couscous and carrot puree (who thought carrot could taste this good!) excellent. So good.....had to return the next evening to get some more takeout.....while we waited the receptionist/manager brought us a lovely Bulgarian wine to try.....very nice touch! My pork was again perfectly cooked and the peach, carrot puree with rich mushroom sauce delicious. Just salivating as I key this in....wish we lived nearby :) Value for money too....highly recommend!

We are on a wine tour (Excellent company called âBulgarian Wine Toursâ)and our host/guide brought us here. Every bite was scrumptious! The fig and cheese appetizer was amazing. All the meat dishes were interesting and satisfying. Even the bread was perfect. We will probably go back here tomorrow. Weâre from San Francisco and Chicago and eat in some pretty great places at home and all of us agreed this was a terrific meal.

AYLYAKRIA â The Temple of Aylyak. Aylyak is a typical Plovdiv word which describes the state of peacefulness, delight, nirvana. This is the philosophy that we preach in our Gastro bar - in Aylyakria we love to enjoy, to amuse and please ourselves. The aro
I just finish my lunch and would like to share my experience. I have eaten in all of the top restaurants in Plovdiv and for the most part I liked most of them except Tam's house. Aylyakria is on a different level. From the carefully restored old building to all the interior decorations everything sims to fit perfectly. The menu is very interesting with dishes that is made with high quality fresh ingredients. My wife ordered zucchini pancakes (katmi) with yogurt dill sauce - totally delicious. I ordered pork ribs and they were the best I have eaten in Plovdiv. The service was fast and professional and none imposing. We are coming back. You are a 5/5 client, that's for sure! Thanks for the review! :))))))

We were recommended to go here by our host at the Roots Hotel. Even so as we approached it we suddenly had doubts. It was situated on both sides of the street. It appears large and like world wide chain (things we dislike) but...... Upon entering the decor was classy the staff, friendly and efficient. The food, oh the food. Simply amazing. We actually had to cancel a main course because the starters were so big. It was all fresh lovely and authentic. Super super The desserts however blew us away with a local biscuit cake and a special version of a chocolate cake which was like nothing we had seen before. One final note. We have been desperate to try a digestive local drink to finish a meal. Rakia had proven to harsh but they made a special Rakhi with Rose syrup and it rocked. Well done. Thank you for your kind words! :)
