The food was outstanding. It has an Azerbaijani influence. It has great flavors and is extremely affordable for an upscale restaurant.

Modern Baku kitchen, a combination of traditional ancient recipes with the latest global trends
I visited alone in April and the location is quite attractive if not "romantic. Everything is Pomeganate themed after the name of the restaurant. Giid for business meals, first date dinner and family reunion. Thanksfully menus in English are available (my knowledge of Russian is limited to da, niet and spaziba) and some of the waiters have a decent command of the English language: enough to explain the dishes and take the orders. I had the Czar Soup (fish based, very nice) and a salmon steak with asparagus very succulent.

I took there couple of my friends. All foreigners. Food was overall tasty. Service was quick and good (though could not speak English). All was tasty ... apart from dumplings with cottage cheese and potato (typical Ukrainian - they were just based on potato and no traces of cheese - not good at all). But apart from that - I think I would return.

Extensive choice of dishes for reeeeeeally cheap prices! Totally everything was tasty and fragrant, EVERYTHING (even tea and bread). Good service and spacious place. It is referred to as a cafe, but I would say that it's more like a restaurant.

This is the first in Nizhny Novgorod, a restaurant specializing in the cuisine of the Balkan Peninsula - simple, healthy, hearty and exotic. Thanks to the amazing atmosphere of the restaurant, filled with delicious aromas of incredible dishes from chefs s
The restaurant is quite big inside with a cozy terrace in the backyard, nice place to sit with friends, yet business lunch was somewhat disappointing with a non-disctinct salad and overcooked vegetables as a side dish for the main course.... enjoyed their orange-top cheesecake though. I think they can do better)

Baklajan - is a restaurant with a positive, friendly atmosphere of a hospitality home and delicious national dishes. We invite you to discover all sides of Caucasian cuisine: Sevan trout, flavorful soups in Megrelian, Golden khachapuri and, of course, jui
You have to deal with the lousy service at times but the food is fresh and expertly prepared. Cuisine is a mix of Armenian/Georgian/Turkish with some deviations, also featuring some common Russian dishes. Portions are small, so if really hungry, prepare to order a few dishes. Presentation gets high points. Some items on the menu are definitely worth trying. We had Artanish and Erebuni several times but their khinkali (Georgian dumplings) are a must. I particularly liked the lamb and found beef ones a little dry. Special skill is required to eat them, making sure you drink the broth inside a khinkali and eat the filling at the same time. Sounds simple? Not so much considering the size of a dumpling. They usually offer you a choice of complimentary wine or one other drink to start your dining experience. The semi-dry wine we were offered came from Serbia. It is drinkable (and free!) but if you like dry wines, stick to their Caucasian medicinal tea (non-alcoholic). It sounds strange but it is a healthy drink and tastes good. Check their business lunch specials and be prepared to wait for khinkali as they make them from scratch. Takes anywhere from 10 to 20 min.

The only problem with this place is that its interior kind of doesn't correspond with the food it serves. The food's excellent, very authentic, but the decor reminds me more of a bar or coffeeshop than a restaurant. Too casual for the price tag? Anyway delicious food, not too much wait, good beer.

This was the third Georgian restaurant of this name during our month in Russia, also serving those tasty cheesy treats with salads, along with Crimean red wine and local beer. Cosy seating and popular with the locals.
