The Ãrpád wine cellar is a very cozy pub on the Egregy vineyards with an amazing view and good wines. Our original aim was the Római pince, that we visited a few times in 2016, and found the best restaurant in HévÃz, but unfortunately, it closed because of the winter time. This place was recommended by our taxi driver and was a very welcoming restaurant, where the guest felt at home immediately. Since it was a very late lunch, before the main course, we had to order something fast, life-saving dish. It was Fried Camembert cheese on toasts with blueberry jam. Perfect for two people standing on the threshold of starvation. The speed how we demolished it was the best praise. Our mains were a pork chop breaded in tócsi with a mixed salad for my daughter and a Gordon Bleu with Tócsi and mixed salad for me. What is tócsi? It's a potato dish that other part of Hungary called tócsni, and I would describe it as a kind of potato pancake. We both had a garlic sauce together with our dishes. They were good, but not special. Since on the opposite hillside we could see the houses of Cserszegtomaj, we drank a wine called Cserszegi fűszeres, that propagated on the slopes of that vineyard, and was a perfect addition to the meal.

It was an excellent pleasure to be there. Food and drinks were perfect, included an excellent service. The price range is ok. You get a big portion, and you will never leave as hungry. The stuff is very nice, family atmosphere and perfect service. I can just recommend !

Just been there. We had pizza and local dishes. Pzza was more than Ok. Rest also. Waiter was serving in an old school way. Opening bottles in front of guests, pouring drink in glass... The service was quick. Prices moderate to low.

We were staying overnight at a pension nearby. I was told it was the nearest restaurant that served breakfast, so we went there the next morning.True. It took five minutes to get there but that was the only advantage. At 9:00 am there was little left on the serving plates and most of that did not look appealing. The coffee was thin and tasted horrible. We tried the orange juice but when asked for a top-up, the waiter brought some orange-coloured drink that had perhaps 20% of orange juice in it. The hot sausages were cold. The bill turned out to be surprisingly tall. We had dinner in another restaurant in the same town for about the same price!

...When I turned pages of Madyar Csarda menu. 1 page of starters looks like anywhere, but I turned the page!Soup chapter was already teasing for someone who anglers his rod, puts kilometers of line onto rear and washes his flies at least weekly. So, I recommend Hungarian catfish soup, and, I am sure, I will repeat the recipe at home.Next chapter was for chicken only, another - for goose, special chapter for goose liver...and so on. If even Michelin-abandoned pork got a chapter, what then for beef and venison? Both, beefeaters and wild gamers will enjoy these pages, as well as food.To me visiting Madyar Charda was like that reading pages turned into gedonistic joy of life - the true and real reason to escape from Budapest and 5* hotel!P. S. Nice interiors and cosy terrase. Limited choice of wines.Thank - koszonom - you, chef!

We have visited the Gizi Néni at around 15:00 local time, so there were just another two people and us. The young waiter was very kind and polite, there was plenty of meals to choose from. We were satisfied with the quality and taste of the food very much and with the restaurant overall. When we walked past the place later in the evening, it has been packed with people.

For hungry wild gamer this is the best. Charismatic waiter will artistically read for you a menu, which is creatively framed as a picture. One will find here everything what Madyar cousine is famous for: "mangalitsa" - fur pig, deer, grey caw, goose liver, catfish, veal cheeks and... pheasant. House wine is of very good... table quality. The only thing I missed was wine list. However, second caraf sold my problem... Great interiors and views from the hill slopes. Reservations are must.
