We went to Flaman for lunch. we had 4 different dishes and all were good. Service was fine and the location, opposite the Brandaris is super. We sat outside in the sun which is also a bonus. The interior is very pretty, it is an old building with lots of charm.I think i'll go back and have dinner there some time.

Visit us on Terschelling The birthplace of cranberries is of course Terschelling. Once after a shipwreck washed ashore, this special berry nestled in the humid dune valleys of the island. A small industry has now developed on Terschelling, where harvestin
This place has stuff inside to look at about the cranberry harvest and they serve good coffee and cranberry cake, lemonade and more inside or out depending on the weather and the season.

We went there on a Saturday night with a reservation, which aooeared to be necessary. The restaurant appeared to be packed including the terrace in front of the restaurant. The menu includes popular dishes, including starters, desserts and an elaboratie Coffee menu. The service is also friendly, popular as well as a bit cocky. The restaurant is decoratie with all sorts of fishing and island related items.

We came here two days in a row for drinks during our bike trips on the island. The location is excellent - right on the beach. The service was prompt and friendly. You can sit at normal tables or choose the sofa-style setting areas. Note - there is currently construction for a new West Aan Zee restaurant on the beach.....Would definitely return next time we visit Terschelling and would eat there as the food looked good despite us not eating there this time. Fresh mint and fresh ginger teas are great as well as the delicious cranberry truffle.

Loungen, lunchen, dineren, borrelen en af en toe dansen. Met af en toe live optredens op het enige echte podium van West!
Coming to this restaurant was one of the best experiences we had during the Eastern weekend. We didn't ask for the tasting menu but we enjoyed all the dishes, especially the cockles, cod and rib-eye.Regarding the wines, I asked two glasses of different red wines and both were excellent but I realized that other tables eating different food were having the same wines.Despite this last point, this restaurant deserves a visit.

De Walvis, perhaps the most beautiful place in the Netherlands. A unique location on het Groene Strand near the high dune of West Terschelling. With a wide view over 'de wadden', nature reserve de Noordsvaarder and in the distance our beautiful neighbor I
Been here several times in 2017. Each time we had good food and average drinks. Average drinks, in the sense that the drinks are alright but completely overpriced and poorly served (a small glass of bio apple juice for about 3⬠?!, luke warm "hot" chocolate, watery coffee....).What I am absolutely tired about when it comes to establishments that don't genuinly care about their guests, because they have enough guests anyway thanks to their location and the ceaseless stream of tourists, even off season, is the attitude of the staff (and apparently the management as well according to several recent reviews).Being a hospitality professional myself, I understand how hard it is to get good and trained staff. If you decide to work with cheap students however, you can still train them a minimum or simply don't let them be in direct contact with your guests. Alternatively, pay more and hire professionals. If I have to make all kind of gestures and signs to get the attention of a waiter (which in itself should never happen) and then, after 15 minutes decide to go to the bar myself to place the order or pay straight to the bartender, I wish to be recognised and possibly even get an apology for having to come myself to the bar. But I certainly don't want to be told that I stand in the way in a rude manner.A one minute observation of the staff's action behind and in front of the bar exposes the lack of professionalism, the de-organisation and highly unpleasant stress that this causes shows in the chaos and reflects directly on the guests via the grumpy student waiters and waitresses.I understand that this is a goldmine and that the one who got the exclusive license from the authorities to run this establishment wants to maximise his/her profit. However, it is still a hospitality venue, where guests expect to be treated with hospitality. Unfortunately, it seems to be a global phenomenon that such establishments in tourist destinations have forgotten the core of the business that I mentioned several times already because there's never a lack of guests: Hospitality.A suggestion could be to run an internetshop or a souvenir outlet instead, where a guest is a client and interaction with your buyer is by far less important. The answers from the management to some reviews on this platform confirm that the management isn't knowledgeable at all about hospitality and how it ought to be brought.A missed opportunity but praise to the kitchen team that seems to prepare food with care, taste and attention.

We did not know but the (vegan) food in this restaurant is excellent. The first course with beetroot and tofu was beautiful and delicious. The salads are for 4 people and very good and filling - but we ended up leaing half of our food on the plate. Generous quantities. Service attentive. Its good to reserve

Located in the former raadshuis (town hall), this restaurant has been stylishly decorated and is a nice place to relax after a day´s hike. the service was very friendly and decently fast. The food we ordered was very nice, we both really enjoyed the fish and the salad with smoked mackerel. Reasonably priced.

Every day they have a different day offer, which is very good value! For â¬10 you get a plate with fries, salad and meat/fish!The food was okay, not incredible but definitely not bad. The fries, which come with most if not all plates, were not so good in my opinion.

We totally agree that this is the best restaurant on Terschelling (as far as we've visited the restaurants). The staff is extremely helpfull and friendly. Served with alot of knowledge and sincere love for their meals. Good value for money: we paid 75eur for 1 starter, 2x main course, 2x desert and drinks. The food was fantastic; we had the meat as a starter, as main we choose the lamb (perfectly baked) and the beetroot with goatcheese salad (very tastefull). For desert we had the assorted local cheese, very tastefull. And also the custard with raspberry; great too! Last but not least, they have a good choice of wines. We will be back!
