After visiting the cathedral the four of us had lunch at this nearby restaurant. The ground floor was fully booked but we were given a nice table on the first floor overlooking the square and the Cathedral. Service was very friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. We all four ordered the menu, with soup and carpaccio as starter and steak as main dish. The starter was very nice, and the steak was cooked as requested: three of us medium and one of us medium-rare. A very special Argentine sauce gave added flavor to the meat! Good value for money and very hospitable service!

The restaurant has an interior remembering the colonial past. There is a basic menu but the suggestions menu is as important as the basic menu. However, we chose a boar pâté from that suggestions list and it was not available (a bit painful). Portions are ample but the sides were very comparable in several dishes. Wine by the glass is generously poured. The atmosphere is cozy with a lot of ambiance. The restrooms are upstairs and you have to climb a difficult flight of stairs. It might be a problem for older people or people with disabilities.

A monument in every sense of the word. A loyal but varied clientele likes to come here for a coffee, snack, sumptuous dinner or quick lunch. Classic, well prepared home made dishes in a majestic setting and friendly/informal service
This is one of several options in a big, beautiful square, and we found lots to like on the English menu. Two of us had the tortellini, which was excellent, and two of us had the house white, which was very refreshing. Plenty of seating, and the staff managed us and everyone around us very well.

This pub is a little out of the way, but well worth visiting. We shared a shrimp croquette starter, which was very tasty. For mains we had a goulash with rice and a Flemish beef stew with extremely good chips. Both were very good indeed. There is a good beer selection and I really liked the Triple d`Anvers. We did not have room for desserts, but I had a coffee, prepared in the tradtional local way. It was excellent.

'Dutch croquettes conquer Antwerp!' was the headline in the newspapers when Croquettenbar Smaeck opened their doors last October. Because of the broad variety of flavours of croquettes there is a favorite one for everybody, where you will keep coming back
We just had a great dinner here to start our trip here in Antwerp. The service was friendly, warm and quick. Better yet, the variety of croquettes was wonderful. The accompanying bread and salad were also excellent. Overall an excellent pick and an easy 5-7 min walk from our hotel (Hilton). Definitely recommend to all! Thanks very much for your kind words. I hope you had a great visit in the beautful city Antwerp.

No Worries Antwerpen is a relaxed place for coffee, drinks and food, close to the MAS-museum in "'t Eilandje" area. No Worries is situated in one of the few remaining grain storage buildings (1880) in the "Old docks". It is a perfect place to take a break
Had absolutely no options for vegans (no hummus or avocado, no quinoa, bulgur, chickpeas or nuts) except for fruit and salad. Will not go back Hi Cosmoofgreatpleasure,a bit surprised by this comment. Why walk in a place when you can clearly see what's on the menu and what the possibilities are and that we clearly have none of the above mentioned, nowhere. Our only option for vegans = fruit & salad. So when our options are explained to you and they don't satisfy your needs, you can always move on, no harm done. Why would you then stay? To complain afterwards? Especially since our next door neighbours have a Libanese restaurant where you can find all that you mentioned. It's a bit like walking into a steakhouse to complain afterwards that there was no choice of fish. Anyway, hope you still had a pleasant day afterwardsKind regardsAnn & Koen

Het gebaar (the gesture) serve wonderfull dishes. We especially enjoyed the starter and the main course. The desert are more a work of art. We food they were a bit to sweat but you will surely enjoy it... The starter tuna and mushrooms just were out of this world and tasted like the beach (tuna) and the fall (mushrooms). This was explosive!!
