The "three master" restaurant, just above the harbour master's office in the pekelharing yacht harbour is just a wonderful place to eat. On the balcony in the sun, if the weather is fine, inside of it isn't. Take the tapas menu, where for â¬24.50 you have a choice of dishes as long as your arm from which to choose as much and as often as you like. The two of us ate, inter alia, fresh raw herring, Caesar salad, sole fillet, soup, pasta, grilled chicken livers, Indonesian rendang, chips, dame blanche, mango tart, pistachio ice cream with rum sauce and more that I've forgotten. It was all delicious and served with an unexpected degree of sophistication- lemon jelly with the herring (as well as the raw onions and pickled cucumber, of course.) The service was top- young, smiling, attentive and the cooks in the kitchen a professional and happy bunch. What's not to like? No need to come here unless you're hungry!

I only had an espresso here, but stayed for a while writing and enjoying the view of the boats in the harbor on a rainy afternoon. The waitress left me to work and enjoy myself, and never made me feel rushed at all. I enjoyed the navy blue and white washed decor while I snuggled into the sheepskin and pillows on the bench on front of the fireplace (which hadn't been turned on, maybe because it's "spring?") but still made my corner cozy. The coffee was excellent and I'm a bit of a coffee snob, and was served with a little sweet. It cost 1.75Euro and I left the remainder in a little model of a boat on the counter that is used to collect funds to maintain the town's rescue boat, a good cause. The bathroom area was decorated so pleasantly and was clean and tidy. Very Dutch! Worth the little walk. Thank you

It's not that the food was bad, it wasn't. And the service was excellent too. But it was not surprising. The starters were good but main courses were not. The sea salad was full of mayonnaise and the fish was oily. All in all not what we came to expect from restaurants ranked 4 in their area by trip advisorers.....

We were out exploring Noord-Holland & the tulip fields & stopped in this cute town & stopped in here. There was a crowd inside & out, however the manager asked a couple to change tables so our group could sit. We thought this was very nice. Our pastries, Koffee & hot chocolate were excellent. Definitely would return for lunch or dinner. Their hamburgers looked fabulous as well.

Pleasant bar/restaurant with a modern look. Locals Grand Cafe means very good food for a reasonable price. On the menu you will find fresh biological local products with a Mediterranean twist. Most meat and fish dishes will be prepared on the Big Green Eg
We came in here for a family meal just after the off season had started. The staff couldn't have been lovelier and the surroundings are beautiful. The only thing that I would have to comment on was the price of the food which was at the higher end of the scale but then you are paying for a unique and beautiful dining experience.

We enjoyed a great evening at Eetcafe Rumours after just walking around in Medemblik looking for a dinner venue. I can recommend the 'biefstuk van de ossenhaas' which is a fillet of beef prepared in its own beef sauce, their speciality. The waitress was excellent and very friendly. We also had a very nice chat with the owner/chef during the evening that made the outing a memorable experience.

What a fab little restaurant this is beside the marina. We had the lovely big barge board table with our friends. Service was great, it was very busy so I would recommend booking. I had the smoked sea bass starter which was lovely, very different. Fish for main too which was lovely. Husband had ribs which were huge and delicious. A few shared the stew which came back with glowing reports.

This restaurant is wonderful, very funky décor, very smart. Lovely to see the chefs at work in the open plan environment. We had the tasting menu and let Meijers 'surprise us' which was fantastic. Beautiful albacore tuna delicate and beautifully presented, this was my favourite dish. The veal was fabulous and the dessert great, I had the cheese (when in Holland :) which was generous in portion size and just delicious. A really great end to a special meal with my husband. The bread they served straight away fresh from the local bakery was just heaven. Because we sail in Medemblik frequently we have tried many of the restaurants and so far this is definitely the best. Service was wonderful, thanks so much :)
