We were in Emmen because we were going to the MotoGP at Assen 25 minutes away. We found Chef Burger thanks to Tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. Good value. A warm welcome and we shall return.

A charming place to eat, surrounded by nature. Huge terrace. Dogs welcome. Wellknown for its typical Dutch culinary 'kroketjes'. We also serve hare, deer and rabbits we got from the hunters that walk in the nearby fields and woods.

This place is a kind of middle of nowhere, but thatâs the beauty of it. No sounds of traffic, airplanes, people.. Just the fields and trees around you and birds singing. We were here for a birthday party, and this is a great location for a private event.Stunning sunsets and sunrises and the lodges far enough from each other , so that we all have proper privacy when finally get to bed. Food is excellent and people running the place are really friendly. This is a camping site with options to rent a place to stay. Strong recommendation!!!

A must should one be in the neighbourhood! Very friendly waiters and the food is simply delicious!! I had the mixed grill and every piece of meat was cooked to perfection! Will probably visit again any time soon!

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary in private, and we were pleasantly surprized about the variety of very nice combinations of food we found on our plates. All made fresh, absolutely made with love, and tasting ever so good!If you enjoy a night out with good treaties and well chosen wine, go here. No loud music nor loud guests, very friendly servants, no wonder we really enjoyed our evening out.

The service started very slow, after I got the wine menu it took at least 15 minutes before I could order the chosen bottle. It got better further through the meal. I started with the salmon trio, smoked, marinated, and tartare. The smoked salmon was perfect, still very juicy inside. The tartare a bit too salt.My wife had the goat cheese marbe, a too big chunck of goat cheese, with too little of the promised apple.As main I had the BBQ ribs woth sweet BBQ sauce. And indeed the ribs were sweet and lacked any other flavor, a disappointment. My wife had seabase and pasta, the fish was ok, the pasta a bit dull.Prices reasonable, we spent â¬90.

We happened upon this magical place by accident, and it is a complete hidden Gem. Set in the heart of a beautiful wood, with endless cycle and walking paths and tracks, the Uitkijk is nestled on the top of a hill. Had it not been fully booked we would have stayed the night with the little ones as it is welcoming, warm, incredibly smart and most importantly, cosy! We only had a couple of burgers on the terrace, but they were outstanding, and they were wonderful with the children. The Apple Pie was typically Dutch and yummy, and the children spent the afternoon planting in the garden with the new owner, Helen, or playing in the adventure playground in the woods. We will definitely make the trip back from Amsterdam, and perhaps with a group of friends as they only have 13 rooms, and they look lovely. Thank you Helen and your team, if things are this nice a month after taking over, looks like this will go from strength to strength. If you are in Amsterdam, and want a weekend away..... This is the place to come!

I went to this restaurant following Tripadvisor 's rates. It seemed to be the best one within the existing alternatives. We ordered some drinks, with bread and dips and olives mix. It was good. We also ordered a dish each and food was very good. I personally ordered a vegetarian omelette with fries aside. Very very tasty. I never had such a tasty omelette. Fries were also tasty as they had the skin and were accompanied by a good mayo. I recommend it.

I've been here 3 times so far. It's a place quite far away from human society. Nevertheless its always crowded. You definitely should book a table in advance.It's a small cosy café with friendly staff. All meals come with the all you can eat salad buffet which offers a really nice variety of salads for you to enjoy as much as you would like. The main courses are sold for between 13 and 25 euros, so normal prices. I've tried several things already and all were really good. Especially liked their pulled pork (draadjesvlees). Its not on the menu, but can be requested with the cook.Also loved that they have gifts for kids visiting. My son loves to play with the little book he got.Definitely worth visiting!
