good restaurant that is a favorite in the area--today was 99 cent coney dogs (tuesday)-as good as any in the state--they are putting a new leo's at 14 mile & van dyke, I found out--we had ann wait on us--very sweet girl--they have a large menu--manyof the options are greek & american--food is very good here by the way--
Although I have been to many Coney Island restaurants, I happened into this diner looking place which I understand had recently changed names to Nicky D's and actually it looked like an old time diner rather than a typical coney island place. The menu was more comprehensive than most with more variety in the salads and pitas. I had a late breakfast and wanted only a light bite and discovered the Breakfast Wrap which included two eggs and I added cheese for $.84 rolled in a soft tortilla (perfect) Next time when I order breakfast I will choose one of the 18 omelettes. My friend ordered the corned beef reuben with coleslaw and remarked that it was large and tasty. Being a senior, I saw on the menu that 10% off was available for seniors and college students. I noticed that about 9 other Nicky D's exist but have no idea whether they have a similar old style 50"s diner style which had enticed me when I noticed the place when driving south on Woodward.

We visited for dinner on 7/31/2916. Service was a total disaster. The lady waiting on us (checked showed Ashley P) was very unprofessional, inappropriate, sarcastic and was striving for attention. After we placed an order, she started singing " Easy easy japanesee " I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken, which was around $9 and my husband had chili dogs. Food was good, no complaints, but the waitress really crossed the line. She was addressing my husband as "young man" instead of sir, me... not even worth mentioning here. And when she delivered food to the table, she addressed us as "beautiful people" After this experience we probably won't be back for a long time.
New place in the area in former closed BBQ place. First impression...very clean, nicely remodeled from the former, smiling faces and comfortable seating. Ordered a gyro, excellent, hubby got the coney special and our adult son got the chicken tender melt! All served with a smile, piping hot, delicious! Came back for breakfast the next morning, breakfast specials are honored on the weekends, Western omlet excellent, egg special excellent, over medium eggs done right and rye toast was awesome. We will be back, service was outstanding, prices very reasonable!

We all enjoyed our breakfast. The service was good, A great family restaurant, there was lots to choose from the breakfast menu. The atmosphere was that of an 50's diner. It seemed to be popular because the restaurant was very busy. We had breakfast but others were ordering from the luncheon menu. We will be back.
