A Central Texas institution, Old Jody's Restaurant is legendary for its hand-breaded chicken fried steaks, homemade onion rings and the best cheeseburger for miles and miles. Family owned and operated for over 65 years, Old Jody's has built its reputation
We stopped for lunch after a visit to the VA. Casual, friendly place with mostly long tables seating 8. Throwback vision of Texas style small town diner. We ordered water to drink. Huge glasses with a small bowl of lemons on the side. I ordered a cheeseburger, but would have preferred Swiss cheese, all they ever have is American cheese. Tasty juicy burger. Hubby ordered chicken fried chicken. Came with a tossed salad and tomatos. The blue cheese dressing was very good. Chicken was tender and crispy, although the crunchy coating was falling off. Fries appeared to be homemade with some skin still on. They do not accept credit cards.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, full bar, drive thru, daily lunch and bar specials. Free truck parking across the gas station. Catering available for small and big parties.
Delicious food, great friendly service. Guac made at table to your order (heads up, it will feed 4!). Got chicken enchiladas, real chicken & really good. Hubby ordered mixed fajitas, beef flavored so tasty & tender. Will return often. Very clean, very reasonable pricing.

We eat breakfast here occasionally. This place hasn't changed in years! It's your basic old style diner. No frills, but pretty good food!
