We just happened upon this restaurant in South Houston (about 3-4 mi. south of loop 610) and we were so fortunate. They have an extensive menu for a cafe. The pancakes are large, thick, but not too heavy, and of course good. They have something called a steam bar, where you pick out an entree out of several choices, vegetables, and a salad if you desire. The entrees are a large serving. The food is very good. They can probably seat about a hundred folks so there is not usually a wait. The prices are very reasonable. Parking is at a premium, and be careful about parking in the next door McDonald's, because they have signs that threaten towing your car. The location is just about a mile east of the Gulf Freeway (I45). We will stop here every time we are in Houston, in route to Galveston.

What Denny's do so well is serve breakfast to a known standard. The branch is no exception and adds to that excellent service and a well maintained standard.What is great to having say the grand slam that essentially allows you to build your own breakfast. Outstanding value.

I love waffle house breakfast and this one was no exception. The food was served fast and courteously the way I ordered it. I was there alone so the only place I could sit was at the counter. Would have preferred to sit in a small booth but they have those reserved for 2 or more even when they are slow.
