Reviews on Diner food in Salem, Oregon, United States. Named from the anglicized form of the Hebrew word "shalom," meaning peace, Salem provides visitors with exactly that - plus a horde of historic sites to explore and plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. Oregon's capital, one of the oldest cities in the state, exudes simple, small-town hospitality with just enough politics and culture to keep things interesting. Tour the grand, gold-domed State Capitol to learn about the workings of the government, then head to the observation deck for a fantastic view of Salem and its surrounding area. Although the whole city is a living history lesson, brimming with old buildings and landmarks, the Mill Mission Museum is a definite standout. Art buffs should not miss the impressive Pacific Northwest collection at the Hallie Ford Art Museum. In between sights, take time to people watch or picnic at Bush's Pasture Park, or enjoy wine tasting at some of the local vineyards. Salem's idyllic setting, in the heart of the emerald Willamette Valley, coupled with its historic role as political hub for Oregon make it the perfect choice for a delightful and interesting weekend away.

I usually order some of the Black Sheep food at the next door Santiam Brewery. The food is always delicious and always reasonably priced .They do the regular burgers, chilli and nachos but also thankfully a couple of great salads. I love their Greek Salad in particular..helps keep the carbs down so i can ave a couple ales!Nice people, great food.Ah, shucks, you're making us blush! We're very proud of our salad offerings & are happy to hear that our customers love them just as much as we do. If you haven't been by in the last couple weeks, stop on over! We added a couple new salads to our pub menu to liven things up a bit (but, of course, we do still have our Greek as well as the Oregon Harvest, another favorite!) Thanks for the feedback, we look forward to hearing your take on some of new items! :)

My fried eggs were dead on medium just as I ordered, the sourdough toast was toasted perfectly, and the bacon and hashbrowns were both delicious and plentiful. All the food had that substantial "diner" feel to it without being overly greasy. The coffee is really good too, although I wish they had real cream instead of Coffeemate. Service is fast and friendly. The Ritz is small but mighty!

This restaurant hasn't changed much in 50 years and it's fun to see the old photos and newspaper clippings on the walls. Service was very good, but food was just average. Turkey sandwich was fine; fresh fruit on side was not very good- melon was hard and grapes were over-ripe. I expected that the cranberry sauce would be in the sandwich, but it was little portion of cranberry jelly on the side. Milkshake was all right.

A Northwest favorite since 1960. Our 25 locally owned Elmer's Restaurants take pride in their communities and source local, farm-fresh ingredients.
Elmerâs fills a niche! Moderately priced, average to very good food AND service for breakfast, lunch, or a lite dinner. Usually quick service. Generally located close to highway exit for EZ access. If youâre looking for more than that, maybe you should keep looking! Every couple years we pull through Salem, and if before noon, this is where we stop! We have found their breakfasts very good to excellent and lunches average to good. Coffee cup is always full and the service has never been bad! This trip we had a Skillet breakfast and a Spanish omelette, served by a very nice, professional server and she checked on us frequently during our meal. Like most eating places, if you bring a concern to managementsâs attention, it is generally resolved! If youâre in a hurry, tell your server. It has always worked for me. Iâll stop here again because it fits the niche at that particular time. Morning,We truly thank you for your feedback and are glad to see you've enjoyed your visits to Elmerâs. We love hearing from our Guests and we send each review directly to the restaurant management to be seen. Hope to see you again next time you're in the area!Kolten LindseyOnline Media ManagerElmer's Restaurants, [email protected]

White's specializes in good old fashioned down-home cooking! My personal favorite for breakfast/brunch is Don's Big Mess - it has everything but the kitchen sink in it - potatoes, ham, sausage, bacon, cheese, tomatoes - and it comes with 2 eggs cooked to you liking and is smothered in country sausage gravy... I'm getting hungry just talking about it! They are open until about 1:30pm and their burgers, sandwiches & salads are just a yummy!
