During the middle of a bike tour on a hot Sunday August morning, we happened upon this out-of-the-way garden restaurant and enjoyed a coffee and a delicious coffee ice cream sundae. We returned this fall for a coffee and pastry. The place could probably make a killing if the owners were to invest in a renovation, but even as it is, itâs peaceful and cool in the summer, and the view quite pleasant.

Buchhorner Suben was our second choice for dinner in Friedrichshafen but it turned out to be a perfect choice. As a main course we had local white fish with almond butter, spinach and parsley potatoes, swabian strip loin steak with roasted onions and thyme-jus, bacon-beans and homemade Spätzles and chicken steaks for children. From the sweets we had dessert variation âBuchhorner Stubenâ and variation of black and white mousse au chocolat. All meals were delicious and serving was stylish as well. Moreover we have been very satisfied also with service. Serving waitress was professional, flexible and modest.

Wieder haben wir den Muttertag im Löwen verbracht. Die Speisekarte ist noch vielseitiger geworden, die Speisen frisch und munden delikat. Der Service aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Eine Perle der gesunden Ernährung mit Spargel, Fleisch, Fisch, Suppe einfach alles. Die Desserts sind sehr fein und frisch, Rhabarber-Tiramisu und warmer Schokokuchen. Uns und unseren Müttern gefällts sehr gut, den Kindern auch!

We we're driving towards the Bodensee and stumbled across Panem. It was a surprise as there wasn't much around the area and yet it was full of people. We decided to give it a try. We only had simple salads (which were hugely expensive by Canadian standards), but the quality was good and so was the service. It is a bright restaurant on a couple of levels with lots of windows. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Panem, but if you are nearby, it's a good choice.
