No trip would be complete without a visit to the Harbourlite for a cone! Great selection, good prices.....cool beach atmosphere! Get a cone, and walk along the harbour- what more could you ask for! Staff friendly and location perfect! It's like a "step back in time" with that old 60's diner decor...just what you look for in a trip to the beach!

And no food truck illustrates this better than Port Elgin's Donut Diner. The Donut Lady serves the best hot, fresh mini donuts and customers can watch the Donut Robot crank out 50 dozen donuts per hour in their beach location. Dusted with cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar, these donuts are an affordable and shareable family treat to enjoy while strolling the market isles. Fall Fairs, outdoor events and Jul/Aug at the beach. Have tried to get take out a few times from this restaurant as it's just around the corner but every time I try to just get some chicken it's always more than a 40 minute wait for take out.. I can drive across town and get chicken from independent quicker! So that is what I did both times, it is frustrating , I could order well ahead of time I guess but I've had cold stuff from them and it wasn't anything special. Some people swear by the chicken here....maybe one day I'll get a chance to try fresh cooked stuff from them.
