This was my first visit to The Blue Plate, as I was from out of town. I noticed how every time I passed the restaurant the parking lot was crowded, so I decided to try it.We have a couple of "country buffets" in our town but I really enjoyed the sit-down, table service. The restaurant definitely has a diner feel and the booths were comfortable. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. The selection of foods was outstanding. There were so many vegetables to choose from! I had the fried chicken livers, creamed corn, green beans, purple hulled peas and cornbread. Every item I had was hot and delicious.I will be certain to make this a regular stop on my visits to the Tuscaloosa / Northport area!

Next door to Bryant Denny Stadium. This place is an institution. A recent ownership change has breathed some new life into the place with some expanded menu items, not that it was needed. Go for a burger and take your time. Parking can be tricky, but worth it. Go âwalk it offâ with a stroll up the strip or around campus.

My wife and I ate here on the night before my wife's surgery in Northport. We split a meal consisting of grilled salmon, mashed potatoes with skin, and steamed broccoli. The food all tasted good, was served quickly, and was reasonably priced. My wife got a mimosa to drink; I had water.
