Find out what Diner restaurants to try in Jefferson City. The Missouri State Capitol dominates a bluff overlooking the Missouri River and the bronze statue atop its 238 foot-high dome is the first thing that comes into view for visitors of Jefferson City. The same bluff was one of the first sites passed by Lewis and Clark on their famous expedition, and the city is close to both the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail and KATY Trail State Park. The city is also home to the imposing Missouri State Penitentiary, the “bloodiest 47 acres in America.”

Dudley's does not accept credit cards. It had been a while since my last visit. The food was as good as I'd recalled---many options of the old-fashioned "blue plate special" type restaurants of mid-20th century. Our group of 6 had 6 different meals and all were pleased. There is a good variety of sandwiches, and choice of sides for the full meals had a good range. My only complaint was that the gravy with the 2-piece chicken dinner was too salty. Prices are very reasonable. The biggest downside to Dudley's is that non-smokers have to traipse through a blue haze to get to the back room, then stand in that same blue haze to pay the bill at the cash register.

We stopped for lunch at this city airport diner with itâs view of arrivals and departures. We had the fried chicken plates with three sides and bread. It was all good, as was the service.

Food Truck meets Brick & Mortar! An awesome variety of favorites...freshly ground brisket burgers, tacos, pulled pork served up many different ways and much more!! We have gluten free and vegetarian options available:)
My husband and I were given the heads up on this hidden treasure by a local patron. Donât blink or you might miss the unpretentious culinary dive. Donât let the 6 table dining room fool you on quality of cuisine; you are in for an amazing surprise. The burgers, bbq entrees, nachos, and Texas sized spuds are beyond delicious. My loaded BBQ potato encompassed the area of the basket; drenched in melted butter, perfectly smoked-moist bbq, cheese, sour cream onions, and salsa. The nachos order brimmed the basket as well, and my husbandâs burger was perfect grilled diner perfection. You MUST try this High Street gem while in Jeff. Oh my!! Thank You sooooo much for the kind words and wonderful review:)Please come back soon!!

Each time I visit I marvel at how juicy these double cheese burgers are. Plus they come with lettuce, pickles, sweet onions and a big tomato slice. I didn't put ketsup on my burger, because it was so juicy. My guest ordered the Western Omelet with hash browns and toast. He was also delighted. I ordered the breaded mushrooms, however the portion was so large that I had to get a to-go box. If there is just two people in your party, try to sit at the counter. My 12 year old guest thought it was a great adventure sitting on the swivel stools.

This place is small and off the beaten path but definitely the place to go for breakfast or lunch every day except Tuesday when it is closed. We had breakfast with friends and the service and food were wonderful - good old home-style atmosphere and food. Love it!

Located on the outskirts of Jefferson City in a semi-industrial area, Mel's is the place especially for breakfast.. The parking lot is crowded with people waiting for a table. The menu is pretty standard, but the quality of each meal is outstanding with very generous portions. Country ham and eggs is a big favorite. The waffle and berries is remarkable. If the food is not enough, the service is excellent and you will not find a friendlier staff. I live 35 miles away and a Sunday morning drive to Mel's is a highlight of the week.

Went here for breakfast on Sunday. Busy place but we were seated in 15 minutes. Server was friendly and fast with getting our drinks. Had the French Toast combo. Eggs were fluffy and hot, French Toast was very good. Didnât even need syrup. Another person ordered the big breakfast. It has everything. Very reasonable price for the portions. Food was also delivered fast. Someone was always coming around filling up our coffee and water. Highly recommend for breakfast and will return.
