Stopped by about a week ago. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. Although a little pricey the food and service was excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and one person gave my mother suggestions (because my mother inquired) on what bakery to get cannoliâs. This will be my go to place when I come back into town
Avenita on Parson Blvd. in Jamaica, NY (Queens) is simply a small neighborhood family diner with good food that caters to locals St. John's students and lucky travelers. They have an extensive menu mostly of favorites serve breakfast lunch and dinner and offer free delivery.Separately we all arrived at the same conclusion...cheeseburger platters. I had their bacon cheeseburger while the others ordered the Avenita burger with avacado jalapeño pepper jack cheese and two cheeseburgers. Our lunch appeared and all of the generous size burgers cooked to order were spot on...cudos to their cook. The accompanying fries were tasty and cole slaw as a side...filling.As if our burgers were not big enough we ordered apple pie a la mode and chocolate chocolate cake to split. Both were exceptional rich cake and delicious soft crust. So if you find yourselves in Queens or at St. John's University (go red storm) down the street and stomachs are growling hit Avenita. It's an American diner where the food is good generous portions reasonable prices and friendly folks.Stuffed,Ricardo y Julia
This is hands down my local go to diner, pleasant wait staff, peaceful dining experience...Really does serve the best meatloaf ever, their egg avocado omlett is delicious, desserts are out of this world.

This diner is in a nice location; however, being in an urban area parking was a bit of a challenge on a week day, in the very early afternoon. The place itself is nice, roomy and clean. My server was serious and aloof; he never smiled and limited himself to taking the order and bringing it when it was ready. He was not welcoming or friendly in any way; however, he was in no way disrespectful. The servers who were tending to nearby tables also seemed to be somewhat unfriendly.I ordered a grilled chicken with tomato sandwich. It came with French fries, cole slaw and soup. I had the Manhattan clam chowder. The food was very tasty. The portions were more than adequate. The lady at the register was somewhat standoffish. She asked me if I wanted a copy of my receipt and I said no. She gave me a copy anyway; this is not a problem at all. However, when I smiled and said I was already walking away because I wasn't expecting it, she became even more serious and seemed annoyed.I go to many diners and had never before encountered one with such unfriendly staff. This was a first for me. The food was good so if I am ever in the area again, I will go back. Next time, I will know what to expect (no smiles, no friendly comments).

Today my wife and I along with family members went to this diner to celebrate our "GRANDDAUGHTER"S GRADUATION". This was the first time we've been here and I must say the food was enjoyable as well as the service. There's quite a variety of food selections on their menu so you can definitely find something you'd like on it.
