"The Little Place with the Big Taste" The Village Diner is not your average diner. Fresh, made from scratch diner food with a unique twist! FREE PARKING is available across the street in Floral Ave Park and at the Fire Stations metered spots.
Looks can be deceiving. Driving by this place, you might not think that itâs going to be the gem that I think that it is. There is a wide variety of food selection and the food is tasty and served by friendly staff. Youâre not going to come to admire the devour or the fancy surroundings, but I have a feeling that you will come back for the food, good prices and pleasant wait staff.

While stopping in for breakfast, we were seated and completely ignored. One waitress eventually brought silverware but never offered coffee. After what seemed like forever, we got up and walked out. Never did that in my life but wasn't about to be treated like that and give them my business. Tip..don't go unless you have no plans for the day.

We met other family members here for a luncheon and Birthday celebration. Greek motif and varied menu of American items. Food was good and tasty, waitstaff was friendly and efficient. They allowed us to bring in a cake for the Birthday girl. Overall good food at low cost and friendly staff.

My wife, son and I came into the Union Diner and were promptly seated. I ordered the special that day for breakfast that was eggs over easy, hash browns, pancakes with bacon. The spikey black haired waitress asks me what kind of toast I wanted. I replied, the order does not come with toast, nor do I want it. She replies " I have been doing this job for over twenty years and I think I know better than you that you need to have toast to sop up the eggs!" I was so bewildered, all I could was reply was rye toast then. When she walked away, I made up my mind that we would leave and go back to another restaurant. As we were leaving and I told her so, she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Needless to say, we won't be back at all. Same people that run the Take a Break in Vestal, same bad service.

Had a long day ahead so wanted a hearty breakfast of pancakes, eggs and sausage. Skylark fit the bill with reasonable pricing. Just don't expect fancy or gourmet.
