Depot Diner has got it goin’ on! Very good breakfast at a reasonable price. Service was quick and staff was super attentive on our Sunday morning visit, despite being quite busy. They seem very organized and customer service oriented. For example, you can put your name on the waiting list via their website. They had a 30 minute wait the morning we went, but we signed in online before leaving the house and our table was ready within about 5 minutes of arrival (they send you a text when your table is ready). Nice! This diner is clean, staff is friendly, and the food was super good. We loved the Nutella waffles and the corned beef hash omelette. Will definitely go back.

This coffee shop/diner was the best! It had great food, great prices and great service from great servers. The food was home made and delicious. Large portions and this place is very popular with the locals. We ate breakfast there twice in the three days that we were in town. Highly recommend.

Upon arriving, we were yelled at for bringing in outside coffees and told we had to leave the outside. I have never heard of such a thing and it wasn’t like we weren’t going to be buying beverages and food in there. The woman was just not nice about it. She was rude all around. I get it it’s October. I visit Salem often and year round and it wasn’t even that busy. She was rude to everyone sitting at the counter and just kept saying “we’re busy.” Girl, if you can’t handle a busy diner in October, waitressing in Salem is not for you. Everyone there was just not personable. Thankfully the pancakes PUMPKIN were delicious. Unfortunately I will not return. So many places to eat in Salem with happy hosts! Sorry to hear you had a less than stellar experience with our staff, Jamie! I will say that the prohibition of any outside food or beverages is a legal stipulation of our beer and wine license issued by the city, it's just not some arbitrary policy we have at the restaurant with the hopes of stuffing a few more bucks into our pocket. I honestly don't even think I would care that much if people could bring their own beverages in, I would just feel bad if they're missing out on the awesome drinks we offer. So I am sorry if someone on our staff seemed short with you, but she was just looking our for the restaurants best interests and as you said, it is October, and I'm sure it was busy - everyone wants to walk around town with a warm cider or pumpkin coffee this time of year, ya know? I'm definitely not saying you were rude to her, either, I did not see the interaction. However, I will say that we have the most wonderfully introverted group of servers I've ever worked alongside during my sixteen years in the restaurant industry and If one of them ever "yelled at" anyone, I would pay good money to see it. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you at least enjoyed the food, we make everything with love. I DO hope you decide to change your mind and give us another chance in the future, however! We would love to win you over!

On my visit to Danvers I had breakfast at the Portside Diner, a choice proved to be good. The diner is located on a intersection, it"s a cute place, looks just like a trolley or cable car. The interior is classic diner with booth or counter seating. The breakfast was really good, classic breakfast fare done right. The portions were good and well priced. I had the hash & eggs and they were really good, my friends had pancakes and sausages. Overall this a great place for breakfast and I will definitely return.
