Located near UNI Dome stadium, fantastic menu of choices, quality food, 60s atmosphere, great food prep, friendly family service. Priced reasonably. Desserts sumptuous. Best breakfast sandwich Iâve had this year traveling the USA between Florida to Iowa to Colorado to California and in between....bar none, the UNI-que Dome sandwich is crescent roll with two eggs on ham (or sausage or bacon) for about $8. Huge and delicious. Tell them General Bob sent you.

I remember growing up in Waterloo and loving the Maid-Rite sandwich but seriously after years of being away from here I don't get it. Perhaps is the nostalgia because it can't be sandwiches. I guess I just stopped drinking the cool aid.

Gravy's Diner is the latest incarnation of a diner that has had several owners in Cedar Falls. Service was attentive and pleasant. The "biscuits and gravy" breakfast included two biscuits with sausage gravy, two eggs and meat (your choice). This was good breakfast fare, served hot and quickly.

We stopped here on our way through town. Service was good, and the portions were huge. The pancakes were pretty good, but nothing outstanding. Its a step above stopping at McDonald's for breakfast, but not quite as good as I wanted it to be.
