Meet some friends for breakfast at the Williston diner. Great size portions of good food. Hot coffee kept coming from a very friendly staff. Definitely a come back to kind of place.

I stopped here one afternoon for lunch after a visit to Winthrop hospital. The cream of tomato soup was great . I had a turkey and cheese wrap that was good and fulfilling. It's an old train car type diner. I personally love places like this . Small , homey, and friendly service. Prices are very reasonable, however parking kinda stinks. The bus stop is in front of the place and parking lot holds 5 cars.

The Lantern Diner is a family-oriented restaurant serving amazing comfort food the right way. Since opening its Doors once again in 2014 under new management, The Lantern Diner has become once again the Landmark of Hempstead, thanks to our beloved communi
I love burgers but this one looked very nice and was perfect medium rare...but totally dry and difficult to swallow. The rolls on our burgers were huge, but sweet (not s great accompaniment to meat). And they considered charging for fresh onion. Huh? My husbandâs turkey burger deluxe needed a reminder to bring the included onion rings. I must say the fries were fabulous... burning hot, freshly made.

We eat dinner here often and have never been disappointed. Everything is prepared perfectly and the service is excellent. The turkey burgers are HUGE and delicious. There's even a special early bird menu if you order before 6:00pm. Prices are competitive and parking is easy.

I stopped in with a bunch of co-workers during lunch time at the suggestion of one of them who lived in the area. It's a big establishment that's handicap accessible and offers valet service. Service seemed to be the problem of the day at this diner. We had a difficult time placing our order. After looking at a menu and waiting and waiting and waiting, we finally asked if we could order. I noticed there was a table behind us that had been there before us and had just received their food. That wasn't a good sign. I ordered the Challah bread French toast with a side of sausage and coffee. It took a very long time just to get the coffee. As a coffee snob, I would say the coffee was drinkable. My meal consisted of 2 very thick slices of Challah bread and two sausage links. I've never said this before and I don't want to sound like my mother but, the French toast had a weird aftertaste. I can't explain it. Did I eat them? Yes. The links were ok but cooked many hours earlier. After finishing our meal, we waited for our check. It never came. We asked our waiter for the check. It never came. We had to ask another waiter who told our waiter and eventually we received our check. The service was so poor that I actually saw a table of three across from us nearly stand up in the booth to signal they were ready to order. The prices were very reasonable, the food was questionable, and the service was poor. If this diner was in NJ, it wouldn't last long.

Food is fair place. I have been to New Orleans many times and the food here does not compare in quality or selection. The place does have the old diner charm

The best skillet omelets I've eaten. The boss n staff are awesome. Always busy there. My favorite is the chicken and leek frittata with little bit of hot sauce OMG. Mmmmmm mmmmmm good. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes eating breakfast anytime of the day. P.S. they have other great stuff on their menu but I go there just for the breakfast items. So if you're in Carl Place and you're hungry go visit them. They won't disappoint you .I use to eat breakfast at diners and then I tried this place. Never went to a diner to eat breakfast again.
