It is a suburb of the nearby city of Lafayette. The population was 7,526 at the 2010 census, up from 6,120 in 2000. Its name is derived from the Cajun French word for buzzard: the spot where the community was settled was one where large flocks of buzzards roosted in the bald cypress trees. The name means "carrion crow."

This is the usual experience I find at an IHOP. Staff was average. No one seemed in a hurry. The table and seat was very sticky.

Dwyer's was always a place i wanted to eat at, but never made it on time. The lunch selection is varied and portions humongous. The food is delicious, the fried chicken and smothered steak outstanding. I now have it on my favourites list.

I was greeted by 3 or 4 employees upon entering which started my dining experience off on the right foot.My waitress was great as was my food..... served quickly and with a smile.Located across the street from a TA Travel Plaza, so if you're stopping in for fuel, you might as well go here for breakfast.

Service nonexistent. Waitresses are the cooks, and they all suck. All the food was horrible after waiting 30 minutes to be served. They spend all of their time complaining and cooking the to-go orders while ignoring all of the customers sitting in the "restaurant." We sent back a grilled cheese sandwich because it wasn't GRILLED, and the "cook" actually mocked us (in front of our faces) to other customers about how annoying it is to request a MELTED grilled cheese...and how much she hates men. It was b i z a r r e. We had no other options for food since all the other places near by were inexplicably closed at 8pm on a weeknight, so we dealt with it. Never again - seriously - the people working there are horrible, food is horrible, everything about it was horrible. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.
