Brookhaven (/bruːˈkeɪvən/ broo-KAY-vən) is a small city in Lincoln County, Mississippi, United States, 60 miles south of the state capital of Jackson. The population was 12,520 at the 2010 U.S. Census. It is the county seat of Lincoln County. It was named after the Town of Brookhaven, New York by founder Samuel Jayne in 1818.

I had heard a lot about Chism's, but never had the time to stop by and try it. I finally had a long lunch from work and went up there with my spouse. We got the lunch plate. The staff was very friendly, and helpful in ordering. We had the Fried Chicken with rice and gravy, creamed corn and it was delicious! You can tell everything is cooked fresh and even the tea! The tea tastes like at home tea rather than the sugar loaded fast food tea. The place was very clean and location very easy to find. We can't wait to go back!

While I've been eating Hudgey's since I was a little girl, I recently rediscovered them during my pregnancy for having an amazing hamburger steak. (For $8 you get a hamburger steak, baked potato, and salad to go... Can you beat that?) I'd been only ordering to go but tonight went in with my husband and two small kids. They had the buffet, I ordered my usual. The buffet was quite good. All down home, Southern, like your grandma made it food. The salad is cold and fresh, and all you can eat. The drinks are 'self serve' but the waitress/hostess insisted on getting us refills anyway, and our drinks were never empty. All in all, it might be dated, but the food is a hidden gem and to die for. Don't judge a book by its cover!

3. Waffle House

This Waffle House is cleaner than most, but suffers with a sub par cook at times, have known a couple people getting sick after eating, I believe it's just one cook, be very specific about egg orders because they have different definitions about doneness.
