Atmosphere was nice, service okay, food was poor. Fried shrimp were heavily battered (should be lightly), Bayou chicken and crawfish dressing was OVERWHELMINGLY TOO spicy. The best part of the meal were the French fries which I could have gotten at Mc Donald's. The price for the quality (poor) and quantity (very little) of food I received makes me not want to go back or recommend.

We were greeted warmly and with all around smiles. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. The biscuits are HUGE! We tried the Denver omelette, a sweet cream waffle and the Shasta omelette! So good!

Waffle House #2244 Beaumont TXThis is the most unique restaurant brand on the landscape as no other business operates like that. They serve simple recipes and only cook on a flat grill and purchase anything baked. They have this crazy idea that the customer is always in a flying hurry and that life is a race. And, system wide they are morbidly afraid of the passage of time, and work tirelessly toward keeping everything in 1955 when they formed.Thanksgiving day on the road is common for me, and I'm usually able to find something decent near an interstate highway. I popped into the local cafeteria and was shocked to find over an hour wait. I did need to move on which led me across the road to this Waffle House. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and there was nobody else in there.I had an elderly family member with me who had never experienced the brand, and I took great pleasure in explaining you've got to see this at least once in life. I was shocked to the core to be told they don't sell the "original" (little) hamburger because the customers won't buy them. This is the first store I've experienced anywhere that gave an answer like THAT.I ordered the quarter plate instead, and I would hope they would discount that down to the price of the original, which is what I wanted. Oh no, not Waffle House. They don't compensate much of anybody for their errors. You can take it their way, or you don't get it, and those are your choices system wide.I became familiar with the brand not because I like the place, but because I wanted to visit with a dear friend of decades who was a master grill operator for them. They are morbidly afraid of anything that looks like a computer, and the brand had to be dragged kicking and screaming into the era of debit cards. Everything is handled on paper, and the only new thing in there is their juke boxes, because the 45 rpm record is toast.Whatever you order will assume a side order of grits or hashed browns, and that's it. If you are concerned for your health or how much excessive grease you are consuming this is not the brand for you. The food is simple, and the people are simple, and that's not going to change. They are 2,100 stores successful, and they don't spend a penny on advertising. They have also lost more discrimination lawsuits than any other brand on the landscape. I'd hope that would change their corporate culture, but obviously, to date it's had no effect.Everything I got in this store was expected; not great, but not bad. It's very unusual in having this wood grain canopy over the kitchen area - something I've never seen in one of their stores. One of the staffers tried to convince me it was one of the system's first builds, and I just don't believe that since the company was founded in Hoffman Estates GA, but I don't have any evidence to the contrary. One should already know what they are going to get when they walk in the door. Considering that this store was as good as any with the exception of being out of stock on the original patty. I wouldn't recommend any Waffle House without first making sure my audience is aware what's in there. What I got was mediocre, but good enough, and for the brand that's the most anyone can expect.I appreciate every person who is working on Thanksgiving day because I know they'd rather be at home, and somebody has to come to work.
We specialize in homemade beef links, firewood smoked, as well as ribs, pork chops, chopped and sliced beef, turkey legs, boudain. We also have baked beans, potato salad, sweet potato pie, popcorn balls as well as fresh crackling.
I love the ribs here. They leave the tips on them which I dearly appreciate. The brisket is good too but I recommend going light on the sauce. Very nice people running the place.
