Discover Restaurants offering the best Deli food in Zermatt, Swiss Alps, Switzerland. When most people think of Zermatt, they think of one thing: The Matterhorn. This ultimate Swiss icon looms over Zermatt, first drawing visitors here in the 1860s. The village of Zermatt itself is lovely and car-free, with old-fashioned brown chalets and winding alleys. (Don’t worry, you don’t have to walk everywhere—there are electric vehicles and horse-drawn cabs.) Skiing in the region often lasts through early summer, but when the weather’s warmer, it’s a great time to hike.

There is nothing nicer when you are on holiday than looking into a bakery window, admiring the bakes. Of course I was drawn inside, allowing myself to absorb all the beautiful smells, and enjoy seeing their full range of bakes. Decided on the local strudel, omg, it was delicious.

Introducing a unique grill experience in Zermatt. Filet et Fils offers a casual alpine dining experience with a cosmopolitan twist. Using the latest and greatest in grill techniques, our chefs fuse worldly flavours with locally sourced ingredients, to aro
We had dinner at filet et fils on christmas eve. We had a table by the fire (very cozy), but all waiters passed our table to the kitchen. The restaurant was fully booked that evening, the waiters had a lot to do and it felt quite hectic. Next to our table sat a couple with a baby who was screaming, not very relaxing. We had the salad, followed by the spare rips, both was good. The red wine though was too warm. The restaurant was nicely decorated for the christmas eve, still the interior design lacks some cozy feeling and it was very loud. The bar next to the restaurant looked nice, but is actually too small for a relaxing pre/fter dinner drink. Outside the hotel, there are a few igloos for fondue, for a winter night with snow, it will be fun to dine in an igloo. Filet et fils has good food, but it is not our place because of the interior as we prefer more mountain style design in winter. A big thank to the staff who did a great job on this busy evening, always with a smile.
