The place is small, but cosy and it offers the possibility of eating inside. You will be able to taste delicious mains, sandwiches for everyone, seasonal vegetables, dishes of the day, desserts and, most of all, our specials: fried pizzas, fried panini, a
I ate lunch here at least 7 times during my stay in Lecce. The food is amazing-- delicious and diverse offerings, for both vegetarians and meat eaters alike. I particularly loved all dishes with eggplant--eggplant with pasta, eggplant parmigiana are two noteworthy offerings. The eggplant entree and a contorni (vegetable, for example, chicoria), cost 5 â¬. And the people who work here are marvelous!

By way of a background, I am fortunate to spend two months a year in southern Italy - about 25 km from this small trattoria. By the way, it is not located in Brindisi but rather in a small village called San Donaci ( about 26 km from Brindisi). My wife and I discovered this wonderful restaurant about 4 years ago and it has become one of our favourites. Pepino is the pizza maker and his products wonderful. He is an artist from his tossing the pizza dough in the air ( just below the ceiling) to the final product- one of the best we have ever eaten. In addition to a wide variety of pizzas this little gem of Itay also carries wonderful meat dishes ( try the wild boar) made to perfection. Finally the wines ( house wine in particular) from the San Donoci region is wonderful. The atmosphere is like one imagines old world Italy to be and the prices are very fair. A typical wonderful meal of pizza, meat, wine and dessert comes to roughly 20-25 euros a person! Don't worry if you don't speak Italian you can point to the meat you want ( it is on display) and Pepino's son who is always present speaks a little English. Because this is a family run trattoria everything about it exudes friendliness. The tourists have not discovered this gem yet - it is worth the drive.

All fans of Salento have to taste our products. Here you can taste cold cuts, chopping board with "capocollo" and a lot of cheese, bruschetta, puccia, good Apulian wine and much more...
If you enjoy trying local produce this small bottega is the place to visit in Lecce. They stock a huge range of local wines and beers which can be bought by the glass as well as the bottle. The have a small deli and make a great selection of sandwiches using only local cheeses and meats which work really well with the wines. They also stock local biscuits, pasta, spreads and pottery that are ideal as gifts. The staff are friendly and helpful.
