All meat at Swan Market is hand-cut, all sausage hand-made by owner Barry Fischer, who apprenticed with German master butchers to bring you a taste of Germany that's authentic down to the last detail. Swan's renowned German lunches are served Wednesday th
Weâd wanted a stop for lunch on route from Connecticut to Toronto. Checked on TripAdvisor, we picked their #1 eatery in Rochester - Swan Market. Drove in Rochester under major rain, the market/restaurant was on a long street in a sketchy residential neighbourhood. The restaurant has only 3 long communal tables. Be very prepared to share table with lotâs of locals/people from all walks for lunch. We sat with a 3 generations-grandfather, father and 12 year old son and a brand new parents with their 1 month old son. The staffs are very friendly and efficient. We had the sausages sampler, and another lunch sampler meaning we had tried most of their known produces. A big counter at the opposite end of the restaurant had all the sausages and German made products, jams, bread for sale. It was the closest way to get to Germany. Get your own experience!

We ordered four different subs here, and each one was the best we have ever had. No, these are not $5 subs, or High School fund raiser subs. They are great (big) meals on delicious rolls. We had the Godfather, Chicken Caesar, Steak (hot), and BLT. I deferred to the sandwich maker's judgement as to what to add, and told him, "We've never eaten her before. Just make it so that that we'll want to come back." We definitely will be back. We thought we would have to (and were planning to) return to Rochester to have more, but find they have a few stores in the Albany area, which we will make point of going to.

We had never been to this restaurant before, which enjoys a large local following of folks who patronize the place. We go there on a very crowded morning for lunch, but were lucky in that we got right in. This restaurant has a very large menu, as most diners do, and also a small but attractive-looking salad bar. I had a hot corned beef sandwich with chips, which were very satisfying. My wife and daughter both had breakfast entrees, which they enjoyed as well. Our waitress was very friendly even though she was very busy. We enjoyed the place and would go back.

Casual atmosphere serving custom made food including wraps, subs, panini style sandwiches, salads and breakfast all day. Featuring a brunch menu every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2 pm. Our bar area features local craft beers, wines and mimosas.
We went there for sandwiches and beer and were pleased on both counts . I recommend the Triboro sandwich and the Allagash draft beer. Handicapped access is tough due to step up to entrance and on street parking. With curb. Prices are moderate and portions generous. Friendly staff.
