The Lunchbox is family owned and operated. We proudly serve Boar's Head meats and cheeses. All our soups and salads are "homemade". All our cream based soups are also gluten free. We welcome special requests and truly enjoy our work!

Daddy Al, a Viet Nam Vet, mans the cash register, and politely visits with his patrons. The subs are well built, with lots of meat, cheese, extras... built the way you asked!! Call ahead, since they are busy and it will save you 10-25 minutes in line and then waiting for your sub to be constructed!! They are popular for a reason!!
My son and I stopped by Hometown Deli & Grocery on the way to Cooperstown to pick up some sandwiches to have for lunch when we arrived for the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.I got an Italian sub, my son got pastrami and they were great! The subs were huge, made to order and stuffed full with plenty of Boars Head meats and veggies. The owner of the place, Don, was also a great guy. We enjoyed talking to him about Oneonta and the Hall of Fame while he was making our sandwiches. In addition to the sandwich store, the place also a well-stocked convenience store that had a very large selection of craft beers. We didn't sample any of them, since it was only 9 am. But we'll definitely partake the next time we stay in Oneonta on a pilgrimage to the Hall of Fame!
