We've waited with anticipation to see this deli open in Milnerton. Once you find your way through the cloud of smoke at the entrance you enter what promises to be a pleasant environment. (the smokers area is inconveniently situated along the only entrance of the establishment) The "safe" meals to eat there are the sandwiches and wraps. The Espetada is well presented. The beef is garlic-laiden, very chewy (ordered medium rare) and lacked flavour. Pity because the presentation is really good.They have an interesting take on french fries/chips. On our first visit we sent a cracked tea cup back to the kitchen. On the second visit my plate had a large chip. Both these instances are not expected from a new establishment and not acceptable in hospitality industry.Owner/manager is ever present but disconnected from guests. Service is slow considering that there weren't many tables ordering meals.Floors are "sandy" and the rough finish draws more attention to the crumbs, food bits and sand on the surface. The constant presence of flies amidst the winter chill is disturbing. Lovely to have the gas heaters and throws because it's really cold.It's still early days and certainly lots of hope for improvement and hopefully on our next visit to the area we hope to have a good meal.

I booked a table as recommended and thank goodness because it filled up fast! With such a lovely menu it was difficult to decide, the hostess recommendations were selected and we enjoyed the perfect pork belly with extra spinach (indulgent!) and the Confit chicken which is impossibly delicious. There was no space for dessert so will have to go back!

My cousins and I arrived last night at Square Cafe & Wine bar for my pre-birthday dinner celebration. From the moment we walked in, the attending staff (and waiters) gave us weird looks. Once we got a table, a menu was placed on our table but the waiter did not return and we were forced to eat from the buffet. After our meal, we had to flag down what I think is a manager to get us a waiter so that our plates could be cleared and so that we could receive the drinks menu. The service was fine, I just didn't like the food. I didn't like the very under cooked scrambled eggs and the un-cooked bacon. The place has a great beach location and view. Great coffee and drinks. There are just better breakfast places in the area.

This was a new and refreshing experience for us. The boiled egg on toast was great. Everything being prepared from fresh ingrediants as you watch. Even the fresh food display looks inviting. Would definitely like to go back to try some of the breakfast bowls as well. Best of luck with an awsome fresh take on food. Great coffees as well.
