Java Cafe is a cute, quaint neighborhood restaurant. I frequently meet friends there for a quite lunch. Seating in side walk outside is nice. Staff very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Food is great. Recommend the chicken salad. Other salads are fresh and very good too!

Firehouse Subs is a very good deli. Walk in, order from the counter after viewing the overhead menu. Go to the drink station to self-serve your selected drink and then sit where you find a table and await your name being called or sometimes the food being delivered to your table. The sandwiches are always good but on the high end of the price range, in my opinion. Nevertheless, I visit frequently. A newspaper is usually found near the entrance; left by other customers, which makes the wait or the meal more pleasant while reading. TVs are present and generally tuned to sports. The place is sanitary too. And finally, the line staff is ALWAYS friendly and pleasant.
Went here for lunch as grandkids like it. Had a couple slim turkey sandwiches and a couple 8 inch turkey subs. Being used to subway and Lenny's we were not offered anything to go with our sandwich other than cheese and condiments. Do they have all the stuff like the other places to put on your sandwich. If you are guessing our first time. We weren't impressed. Sandwich came out quick. No way to heat it up. This won't be our new favorite lunch place.

The staff are very friendly and efficient. The ingredients are fresh, and they always have a deal going. Their sweet tea is a lot better than McDonalds, but not as cheap.
We had just moved into the neighborhood and it was late afternoon and we did not know our way around yet. We saw this and took a chance. A bad chance it was. We both ordered gyros and the beef was tough and dried out, the sandwiches almost inedible. The proprietor said their main business was catering but it is hard to know how.....this business left Germantown for some other part of the Memphis area.
