An informal restaurant, designed so that people from Bilbao and those who visit us can enjoy a more than excellent dinner at a reasonable price. As an objective, focus on food and on your ability to get excited and have fun, in the local essential product
At the reservation I was asked to specify à la carte or their tasting menu. We chose the smaal tasting menu (which was packed with flavors...). Extanobe is quiet, friendly staff, well timed and they do take care of intollerencies to food. It was a wonderful evening.

We stopped here for a swift one whilst waiting for our table as Cascanueces. It turns out they are owned by the same people, and if the quality here is anything like its big brother the pintxos should be brilliant.

Whilst in Bilbao with friends from Tenerife. The Plaza nuevo has many bars etc to choose from .In Plaza nuevo the one we visited the most Culmen. The food is very nicely presented and lots of choices. There is also an excellent selection of drinks to choose from.Prices here were very reasonable and the wine we chose was cheaper than bars nearby. The owners , staff and chef Itziar, Juanma and Inigo all very friendly and enthusiastic about their food and wine.A definite must if you are in Plaza Nuevo.Kind regards to them all from Tenerife

The Atelier is the new gastronomic restaurant of the Fernando Canales' Etxanobe restaurant. Located in a wonderful place in the widening of Bilbao, it offers its clients a unique, different and very exclusive gastronomic experience through the Chef Menu A
Dining at Atelier Etxanobe is an amazingly satisfying experience. The food is a joy for the senses; it presents itself beautifully and the flavors are so intense. Obviously the materials were top notch, but the preparation was to perfection in every dish.Afterwards itâs hard to pick your favorite, but the anchovy lasagne really made the meal for me. The atmosphere can seem a bit formal and throw you a bit off if youâve become used to the typical lively atmosphere in Spanish restaurants.

This place looked nice, and the menu sounded interesting. Unfortunately the food didn't live up to expectations. The cod felafel were very dry, and the meat dishes were very average. Ratte potatoes, in case you're wondering, was two boiled kipflers. It turned out to be quite an expensive night by Bilbao standards. The ambience isn't helped by fluorescent lighting that gives a roadside cafe effect. On the plus side the wine is cheap and drinkable.
