I love Ingles deli. The meals, sandwiches and sides are so tasty. You can also get sushi and California rolls. Everything here is tasty and even the packaged sides are better than average. I would suggest that those out of towners visiting or traveling through Clayton try a meal at Ingles Deli. The bakery is also very good.

Okay, so Subways are pretty consistent, and while this one's pretty average for atmosphere and service, I just had to write a review for the simple fact that I've been getting meatball subs from various ones the country over for years and this location just gave me the best I've ever had. It was toasted perfectly (I get mine with just meatballs, sauce, and cheese with white bread), fresh, and extra tasty (did they change their recipe? mmm, good!).

Main street deliLocated in the heart of the Clayton’s historic downtown, this restaurant has only been open since 2018. The decor is a western theme with a movie celebrity vibe with pictures of Marylin Monroe and the Rat Pack. They have an interesting silent video playing on a TV over the door showing historic pictures of Clayton. The left side of the restaurant has booths that have a nice visual divide between them. The right side of the restaurant has tables with cattleman’s cabin style furniture and bar level seating options. The walls throughout have pictures and paintings of western scenes. The background music was low enough to allow easy conversation.Their varied menu has lots of options. When we saw the breakfast menu, we decided we would return early Friday morning for breakfast. I enjoyed my water with lemon more than my wife’s sweet tea, which was like that which is served in a lot of restaurants. For lunch, my wife decided to have a Smothered Hot Dog and I chose the Supreme Chef’s Salad. The highlight of the lunch was the delicious Sweet Potato Soufflé that was served in a small, heated bowl. Her Smothered Dog was covered with a very good home-made chili topped with chopped onions and oyster crackers. My salad had very generous amounts of ham, turkey, bacon and red onions, and cheese. I prefer iceberg lettuce so I left most of the Arugula lettuce. Our lunch experience gave us confidence that we would probably enjoy lots of their other options as well. They are about to open an Italian restaurant in an adjoining building which will have a wine license. The owner/manager has over thirty years experience in the restaurant business and is very personable and made us feel very welcome. The whole staff seems to work as a coordinated team.
