Very tiny, which we expected. So you will be seated very close to other parties as the owners understandably try to squeeze as many tables as possible in the diner. Service was good, even though they were very busy. No biscuits and gravy on the menu and my husband was disappointed when he saw it was posted as a special on the wall after he started eating his bacon and eggs. I ordered the chili con carne omelette, assuming that it would be chili con carne and not chili con frijoles. It had a good flavor, but kidney beans on a breakfast omelette were a bummer. I did my best to pick them off, but it was loaded with them. Breakfast potatoes were without flavor. Usually hike in the wall diners like this are great, so we were disappointed.

IMPORTANT information when planning visit: Grill Hours: 6am-3pm Chorizo/Gift Shop Hours: 6am-5pm. We are the proud home of Pete's Famous Basque Chorizo which originated in Battle Mountain, NV in 1984!
This place is amazing for breakfast! The homemade basque style chorizo is unbeatable. I recommend the basque burrito with gravy on top, the breakfast quesadilla with gravy and the pork fried steak and eggs. This is the best chorizo and gravy you will ever eat in your life.

Personally, I love their fresh garden salad - it's simple, and inexpensive. And their sides include the ever- elusive fried mushrooms. They've been in the same location for many years, and maintained the same delicious menu. If you're looking for a quality hamburger, this is the place. They do get very busy at lunch, so call your order in first.

Two weeks ago my friends and I were camping at South lake Tahoe. We decided on a day trip to Carson City. The city is the capital of Nevada and had a stately looking capitol with beautiful grounds. Seeing that was worth the trip. The visitors center has a map of about 8 square blocks of old houses from the mining boom era. These houses are located downtown near the capitol. The city painted a blue line on the sidewalk so that tourists can easily follow the path to the houses and other historical buildings. One of the historical buildings was the old brewery. It has recently been turned into an arts center and bistro/deli/vegan cafe. We arrived near closing, but the servers and cooks were more than willing to offer up a tasty lunch with a variety of soups, salads, paninis, wraps, and other combinations. We ate outside and they brought a big bucket of water and a homemade dog biscuit for the dog. The food was tasty and interesting. The server told us that it was the only eatery in town that serves vegan specials, daily. We were pleased with our "hidden find", and also purchased a few exquisite jewelry pieces from the art/gift shop.
