Excellent Bulgarian food in a traditional atmosphere

We came there invited by a man standing in the street. The restaurant is located in the basement what was not a nice surprise for ys. The design is traditional but not particularly cosy. The food traditional, rather average in taste and quality. The waiter did not care too much about us, seems he did not speak English well. It is allowed to smoke there, on our table was an ashtray filled with smoked cigars. Definitely there are nicer places in Bansko.

We went (4x person) for dinner and waited 20 minutes for starters and another 40 minutes for the main course. After they brought the three main courses they realized that they forgot to bring my main course and i had to wait another 15 minutes to bring me a dip fried frozen chicken fillet. We just had to pay our bill and go to another restaurant to have our dinner. A restaurant that certainly do not recommend!

We (2 adults 1 toddler), found this restaurant by chance on a Sunday night when everywhere else was closed.We were pleased to find a rustic taverna style venue, which felt Bulgarian.Nadia the waitress made us feel welcome and she made a real effort with our daughter which is always nice.The local beer is well kept and cold and the various meals we had (we ate there all week) were fresh,tasty and plentiful.The prices are good value, and the choices are wide including mixed grill, pizza and local specialities to name a few.We are foodies and we found this restaurant to be welcoming good value and traditional.We are surprised how far down the tripadvisor list it is.RECOMMENDED.
