On a Tuesday evening, when we were ready for a low-key, affordable, not fancy dinner, we found the Cafe Anthon, and felt like we were really out of the tourist/visitors zone and eating with regular Danes. The food was very good, the service friendly, and the price was right. One bonus--as has been the custom for centuries, a drum and fife group marched down the street and right into the restaurant, fulfilling an old responsibility to be sure that drinking and entertainment had ended by 7 pm so soldiers and sailors wouldn't be out late!

As part of a conference, I had dinner in the restaurant. The starter, a danishnpotatoe salad, was dressed with herbs picked fresh from the beach a few hours before. The main was a great limousin steak, rear. Service was professional and as good as one can expect during a group dinner.

Danish/Nordic cuisine. Ambitious, yet down to earth. Organic produce. Local suppliers. Historic buildings. Beautiful views, and great service. No matter if you are looking for the best organic espresso in Nyborg and a piece of homemade cake, a drink of so
The restaurant and bar is part of a newly opened boutique destillery producing whiskey, rum, vodka, gin...The building is really interesting - it's an old train workshop that went through an amazing renovation. It's so beautiful. As a matter of fact the building it self is an atttraction. Kitchen is modern and pretty advanced. Meal consist of small servings. Choose between 10-15 options from the nordic-tapas-like menu.Wines are nice, but not many to choose from. All in all a great place. Building and interior took me from 4 to 5 stars. Will definately be back.

Very good lunch buffet which was including 2 types of salads, 2 light courses 1 medium and 1 main. Not too much courses and not too less. Perfect amount of selection! Reasonable prices. Definitely recommend this place for lunch. As bonus there was live music(dj) and tables right next to the water outside.

Booked two twin rooms at short notice after a change of plans during our Danish holiday. Rooms were pleasant enough, nothing special. TV remote batteries were dead in one room. Went to their Bistro restaurant for dinner - menu choice was limited, they were already out of some items, and the food we eventually had was average at best, which was a surprise given the reviews. Next morning, breakfast in the Panorama restaurant was better - good choice of hot (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages) and cold (cereals, cheeses, deli meats etc), plus decent bread, nice fruit juices etc. Wouldn't willingly stay there again as it has nothing to entice us back, but it's an ok choice for a clean and reasonably priced hotel as long as you don't have high expectations.

The restaurant at Hesselet is one of these places where you are always certain to have a great experience whether you come for dinner with a big group or lunch all on your own. The restaurant is beautifully located right at the waters edge and equipped with classy furniture it a calm subdued style. The staff is professional, friendly and service minded and the food is at at very high level and is always fresh and tasty. As a regular guest at Hesselet you can hardly wait to come back.

We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant when on a business trip a couple of weeks ago.It looked quite busy and we wandered in. The atmosphere was lovely, with a gentle buzz of conversation and laughter. Claus came to great us, found us a nice table and then came back to offer assistance with the menu. The food and the wine he recommended were superb! he'd offered to drink the wine himself if we didn't like it. The pace that the meal was served at was just right! His mum was helping on the tables that evening and she was lovely too! Would definitely recommend it, the food and the wine were excellent and not over expensive. The service and the "banter" was amazing. Would definitely go again.
