The restaurant is located right on the main square of the city. It has simple but nice interior and it's a pleasure to sit near the window looking at the beautiful main square. The menu is really diverse. It has dishes of Hungarian, Czech and other central European cuisine. We had cheese soup, meat pancakes amd chicken cordon blue. We liked everything and cheese soup was just excellent !! The restaurant was almost full when we came but we didn't wait long for our food.Stuff could be a bit more attentive and friendly. But, generally, service was more or less OK.Prices aren't expensive at all as the quality of food is really good and portions are very big !! So, we have only positive impressions of Gambrinus Haz.

I still can't believe this place was almost deserted on a Friday evening, but it may be that the area is economically challenged. Anyway, we found prices reasonable and portions generous. Our selections: pork schnitzel, fish filet on bed of spinach, goulashsuppe, pork medallions w/pancakes. Soproni beer is great! We waited a reasonable time and enjoyed our dinners (there were four of us) and were able to get along fairly well with German menus. The English menus are translated oddly - "giant porkchop" was the way they described the Schweineschnitzel. Recommended.
