Reviews on Czech food in Brno, Moravia, Czech Republic. The charms of the Czech Republic's second-largest city may not be immediate, but spend a few days in this Moravian town and Brno's vibrant, authentic Czech ambiance will win you over. It's a fine way to experience Czech life without the teeming herds of tourists that visit Prague. Art Nouveau, Empire and Neoclassical buildings stand in the bar- and restaurant-packed old city center. Leafy parks abound. Be sure to get a photo with a local landmark, the suspiciously crocodilian Brno Dragon statue.

Came here on a recommendation and were not disappointed. The welcome and rinks were excellent as were most of the chalices on food......the dumplings are not what are expected and the sauces with the mains can be a bit sweet. The said the Wiener Schnitzel was very tasty as were the starters (soups and beef carpaccio). Super friendly staff.

Excellent Czech cuisine, great atmosphere and best beer in Brno. The famous Stopekâs Beer House has always been one of the pillars of Czech social and cultural life in Brno. There has been a pub here since the second half of the 19th century. It became fa
The restaurant was obviously full when we decided to eat there, crowded, all seats reserved.. A good luck arrived while passing one table for four with only one guest, and we asked. We were seated, the French guy visiting Brno was hungry, so we were, too... We ate, we were talking together, no problem, only we had to ask for evey single beer regardless of previous reviews left here "waiters gave me beer I did not order"... Obviously they were very busy, because a special reservation made in a higher floor was "closed society only" (security ensured and enforced:-). That's it. Give it a chance...

It is nice place to sit down - inside/outside -, drink good craft beer and eat some local dishes. The only "but" is that the waiters could smile sometimes, and the waitresses wear more proper clothes ( very short pants fit more on the beach )

I visited this restaurant just because I was curious about it. I had fried chicken livers unusually prepared - they were crunchy covered in chips served with home made mayo. Really food idea! Waitress was very nice and helped me with putting away my coat. Interior of this place is really classy and you find tables for bigger groups as tables for only 2 people. I especially liked covered terrace where it was warm and I had nice view on the yard (mostly with parking cars, but still nice with some threes).

This must be know as a really good place for beer, as it was completely full on Sunday evening. It's clearly a beer place and the beer landed in form of me without ordering it 2 minutes after I found a place to sit. I heard that they have good meals that you can have with your beer, but I haven't try anything to eat, so maybe next time.

We were told this was a really good place to have dinner so we went twice. Twice because the first time we didn't manage.... and this is the reason why it loses one star. The first time it was packed. We enter, we understand it's going to be difficult but we have a look around anyway, just in case a table is close to leave soon. We are totally ignored by all the waiters for a good 10 minutes, while we were trying to just asked if it was possible to wait to be seated or we had to come back. The best answers we got to our "excuses me..." it's been "NO". So yeah, we leave. We come back after a couple of days and it's way betters. We seat where we want, because we keep on being ignored by the waiters. But we also have good food, typical Czech. We pay with by card and our waiter points out that the tip can be put on the card. Sorry man, you were not too bad but your "NO" colleague just went too far to leave any tip at all in this place. It's a bit pricy (the most expensive dinner in 5 days) but fairly worthy.

Simple plain interior but offers an interesting menu and the food was quite good at a fair price. Near the city center so an easy walk.

I have to say that there is possible to find good lagers and the service is very fast - but you have to stand (which gives the name to the pub, of course) for prices which are a bit high compared to more comfortable restaurants nearby.
