Excellent cuisine made from local ingredients. Black bean soup, tamarind pork ribs, and Pacific tuna all taken to a new level. Solid South American wine list. Wonderful desserts, too! And a setting up in the hills overlooking San Jose that is an experience in itself. Please note: if youâre not staying at the Finca Rosa Blanca hotel (which maybe you should), give your driver the hotel name, NOT the restaurant name. We got very lost on the winding roads coming from San Jose. But it was worth it! I would make this a destination for my next visit to Costa Rica.

We visited this restaurant with a small group tour. It is a place patronized by locals, so you will not see many tourists there. The food was fairly typical Costa Rican fare, but very well prepared and presented. The service was excellent.

Driving up Poas Volcano through quaint towns dotted with colorful flowering trees and Bougainvilleas is a treat before arriving at Chubascos, an informal restaurant with delicious typical Costa Rican dishes, a great option for out of town visitors and family gatherings. The service is charming and the owner welcomes guests with warmth and cordiality.

This is our second time in El Churrasco Hotel & Restaurant. This time stayed for 2 night and had great continental and Costa Rican breakfast. Our steak the first night was delicious and cooked just right. We also purchased a bottle of Argentinian red wine which was on special. Would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone visiting Poasito!

We've been visiting this place since it was recently opened. Since then, we have experienced it's evolution and growth and have witnessed how it is getting better every day. The place is a beautifully and cleverly decorated vintage home, which is warm and inviting. Lunch/Dinner menu doesn't have many options, instead they usually change the plates by the day, and focus instead on providing a few options, but all well-crafted and tasty, so you can't go wrong. Staff is friendly as well as the chef, who would usually come greet and ask about how are things. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to go for coffee or dessert, as the pastry options are world-class and delicious. Price is moderate but it is definetly worth it. They have special "events" during the weekends, for example on Fridays they would close late, have wine, sangrias, beer, pizzas, and a live pianist jazzing up the atmosphere. On weekends you can also go for breakfast/brunch there and also be delighted by french toast, pancakes or just traditional gallo pinto or omellettes. We like this place so much that we usually bring our friends to eat here whenever we can. Make sure you add them on Instagram to find out the dailiy options of food and pastry!

The food was average, at best, but had expensive prices. It was served by inefficient staff members who had trouble getting orders correct, and did not fill drink orders correctly. The tables are packed in together so conversation is difficult.I am very disappointed to hear that you found our service to be below your standards. We strive to ensure that all our customers in the restaurant receive the best service and quality of the food that in its entirety are organic and prepared instantly without any artificial ingredients. We would like to know more. Please email us with a phone number or email address so we can discuss your issues personally. We look forward to getting to serve your in the near future.Pura vida!Eugenia Solano

Costa Rican cuisine.
Excellent food from a 3-generation Costa Rican family, filled with locals, great ambiance. And across the street from a hummingbird garden. What more could you ask?

This restaurant had the best food and service of all the places where we ate in Costa Rica. Family owned and always on site. Cozy, very clean, and surrounded by beautiful vegetation. Friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend the casados, a local dish
Enjoyed a lunch with cousins on a Sunday noon time. Our orders were taken quickly. Had a Papaya shake and it was delicious . We had the 7 gallos plate , make sure to share as it is huge. My favorite were the Cheese tortilla (Tortilla Aliñada) and the plantain empanadas filled with black beans. Worth the trip to the place, rustic looking and open air.

This place should remain number 1!!! The place has unbelievable food and great beer selection (local beers and Belgium/German) and the staff is so amazing!!! And open air seating if you like. They played some Metallica videos for me at my request. What a great find. And a short Uber/taxi ride if you are close to airport.
